Tolerate this
J.J. Jackson | August 8, 2006
I am usually a very tolerant individual; I don?t tend to go off the handle over just anything. For the most part I don?t mind gay people as long as they keep their business to themselves and I will do the same. I am very tolerant to other religions as long as their religion does not teach killing me because I am not one of them. However, sometimes I think we take tolerance to an extreme and call it being human or Christian. Our country has an excuse for everything under the sun. If you murder someone it was because you were mistreated as a child, if you rape someone it is because you had a stressor in your life and needed to feel powerful.
Criminals in our country enjoy the luxury of having their excuse paraded through the media like we should feel sorry about trying to put this person behind bars. We as a country have simply lost our minds, we have allowed the so called human rights groups take us over and didn?t even whimper. Take a look at the media these days; they paint Israel as cruel, heartless people who just want to go around killing off the people of Lebanon. They paint them as just poor people who don?t understand why they are being targeted. Of course we all know what their favorite terror group did to Israel, but that is not a factor for them, they are guilty. Although if it was a woman who had been repeatedly beaten by her husband and she finally having enough tortured and killed him, here in America we would put the husband on trail because he was a jerk and deserved to die.
This is also in effect for the illegal immigration debate; they are just poor immigrants who want to better themselves. It really does not matter how many laws they break while bettering themselves. They are given a pass because it makes a great human interest story; they can fill an entire page telling their heart breaking stories. They will even go so far as to tell us that they are here illegally, how they got here, where they went to get the stolen ID, how many houses they own, how many cars, it is after all the American dream, bought and paid for by someone else. No one asks the reporter why if they know this information they do not report it to the authorities simply because we know they will not do it because of free speech and sources and such. They will not investigate the place that sold the fake ID, or the place that they work for because all they are worried about is if that illegal immigrant gets his American dream.
Now of course if you or I Mr. or Mrs. American decides the neighbor?s house was so much nicer than ours and we broke in and took over, charged our medical bills to the owners and took all their food we would be criminals. Because we are Americans, we are not allowed the American dream. Not one single reporter would be interested in telling the story of how we were just trying to better ourselves. Judges, because we are Americans and should know better would sentence us to the maximum. It is a big ole? double standard that we have allowed to come into play because we want to understand why, I caught myself earlier with my two sons, one had hurt the other, but rather that just punish the one I asked why did you do this.
We are a very tolerant lot aren?t we, we will tolerate just about anything because if we don?t they will call us names, intolerant, racists, bigots, homophobe, the list goes on and on till you are afraid to even attempt to say what you think or feel because you as an average white American have no right to an opinion or feelings because they would be intolerant, nativist, unfair, unjust, welcome to America. There no longer is such a thing as equal protection under the law, that is just something you read about in the history books and that thing called the constitution and the bill of rights has been so twisted and screwed it is almost irrelevant unless it is being used against the American people. Well I for one have had enough; I am tired of being tolerant of the newest way to strip rights from the average American. I am sick and tired of groups screaming they want equal rights when what they really want is more rights than everyone else. I am sick of leaders who don?t even know that constitutional rights IE Civil rights belong solely to American citizens and not to people who come here from other countries, and leaders who are supposedly so much smarter than you and I Mr. and Mrs. Average American who do not know what the word illegal means and honestly believe that we are so stupid that if they change the name to undocumented we won?t have a problem. So tolerate this?
