McKinney Campaign Goes Down Swinging … Literally
J.J. Jackson | August 9, 2006
Now the real question is does any of this surprise anyone coming from the campaign of a woman that slugged a police officer?
DEKALB COUNTY — As Rep. Cynthia McKinney and her entourage arrived at the site of her post election rally Tuesday night one of McKinney’s assistants got physical with a local TV photographer.Videotape from the incident shows the aide gets bumped in the head with a light attached to the photographer?s camera.
The tape then shows the McKinney assistant lunge at the photographer with a closed fist.
Witnesses told Channel 2 Action News that the aide punched the photographer.
The aide was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The McKinney assistant is the same man who collided with Channel 2?s Washington bureau reporter Scott McFarlane in April as McFarlane tried to ask Rep. McKinney about her run-in with a Capitol Hill police officer.
The scuffle involving McFarlane also was caught on tape.
Rep. McKinney mentioned Tuesday night?s confrontation during her concession speech.
?My mother was hurt by someone in the press in this room tonight. One of my assistants needs stitches because of the press that are in this room tonight,? she said in her remarks.

Anyone other than me think that it is a little bit odd that McKinney and those around her get “inappropriately touched” (as she would say) and then lead to physical violence? Especially since this is the sam man from the cop incident? “The McKinney assistant is the same man who collided with Channel 2?s Washington bureau reporter Scott McFarlane in April as McFarlane tried to ask Rep. McKinney about her run-in with a Capitol Hill police officer.”
Things that make you go hmmmmm.
The good news is that Georgia voters apparently have had enough of this Drama Queen.
