Another Notice Citizens Against Government Waste
CAWG is right. The following information really does come as no surprise.
It came as no surprise to the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) when the Senator who had placed the secret ?hold? on the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 (S. 2590) was revealed Wednesday. CCAGW celebrated the end of a political whodunit with the revelation that it was Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) who placed the hold. The bipartisan legislation, introduced by Sens. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.), will establish a public database for $800 billion worth of federal grants and contracts. An anonymous hold had been placed on the legislation, preventing it from moving forward. Grassroots pressure from a coalition of groups and bloggers from across the political spectrum prompted Sen. Stevens to confirm, through a spokesperson, that he is the one blocking the bill.
Since 1999, the Alaska delegation has brought home more than $3 billion in federal pork, thanks mostly to former Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Stevens. The state has ranked number one in pork per capita since we began calculating the statistic in 2000, pulling in $489.87 worth of pork per resident in 2006. In December 2003, The Los Angeles Times revealed how Sen. Stevens made millions of dollars from investments with businessmen who received government contracts or other aid through his legislative efforts.
Dr. Coburn is one of the Senate?s biggest pork foes; he even tried to de-fund Alaska?s infamous ?bridges to nowhere.? Sen. Stevens is known for using his powerful position to reward supporters and retaliate against enemies.
When Congress reconvenes, bringing S. 2590 to the floor should be a top priority for Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist. You can help by telling your U.S. Senators today to support S. 2590, the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006!
CCAGW will keep you informed of developments in the effort to pass this legislation.
This guy is a huge porker as are most of the Republicans as well and most Democrats. But the worst part of this is the conservative base of the Republican Party is already disillusioned with the moderate liberal Republicans that run the party and this certainly is not going to help things this November.
It’s becoming an issue of how much can the Republicans do to purposefully lose the up coming election rather than what are the Democrats doing to win it. Thanks Mr. Stevens. I’d call you Senator but I don’t think that you have earned that level of respect.

Fahrenheit 1938?
?European states must not follow the incorrect and antagonistic policies of the United States, since the U.S. is only after its own interests? - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
?it is better for the European states to make an independent decision and resolve issues through negotiations? - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Why is it that I envision these quotes coming out of the mouth of Hitler to buy himself time to invade Poland?
Also this news today:
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran is not fully satisfied with a report by the U.N. watchdog on its nuclear program but the International Atomic Energy Agency has shown U.S. accusations about its plans are baseless, an Iranian official said on Thursday. An IAEA report said Iran had failed to stop uranium enrichment by Thursday’s deadline set by the U.N. Security Council, which will meet to discuss possible sanctions.
“Generally, although this report has not fully satisfied us, it shows that America’s propaganda and politically motivated claims over Iran’s nuclear program are baseless and based on American officials’ hallucinations,” deputy head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Saeedi, told the official news agency IRNA.
The confidential report by the Vienna-based body, leaked to Reuters, said Iran had resumed enriching small amounts of uranium in recent days. The agency said lack of Iranian cooperation had blocked its probes. - Reuters
And the shell game begins! Sound familiar? Kind of like Iraq? Ok, so the question NOW is what Iran hid while it was blocking IAEA access and did it really give them full access.
DUH! Which way did the nuclear weapons go George? Which way did they go?!?

More Goal Post Moving To Create ?Outrage?
Every day since the vaunted ?world community? called timeout for the terrorists and Hezbollah in their war with Israel it has apparently also decided that it is time to pile on Israel.
Let?s recall what happened shall we?
1) Hezbollah violated their previous cease-fire with Israel by attacking an Israeli patrol and taking two Israeli soldiers hostage.
2) Israel, no longer bound by the cease-fire struck back with military force but not before giving Hezbollah the opportunity to return the soldiers which the terrorists refused to do.
3) Hezbollah attacked Israel while setting up shop in civilian neighborhoods as cover.
4) Hezbollah launched rockets specifically at civilian targets with the intent to kill civilians.
5) Israel bombed the crud out of Hezbollah positions which, we must remember, were in civilian areas.
Then after lots of fighting it was decided that Israel needed to be stopped before (Heaven forbid) they defeated the terrorists. And now we are in the mode of justifying this by moving the goal posts to make the Israelis look like the bad guys.
UNITED NATIONS (CNN) — A U.N. official has called it an “outrage” that Israel dropped cluster bombs in southern Lebanon.“It is an outrage that we have 100,000 unexploded bombs” in southern Lebanon that will take a year or two to clear, said Jan Egeland, the U.N. Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs.
“Every day people are killed and maimed,” he added. “Civilians will die disproportionately” and more children than Hezbollah fighters will be killed, he charged.
Responding to previous accusations, the Israel Defense Forces said “all the weapons and ammunitions used by the IDF are legal under international law and their use conforms with international standards.” ? CNN
Please note that last statement ? the weapons are PERFECTLY legal! Again, HEAVEN FORBID that Israel be allowed to use legal weapons against these poor Islamic terrorists!
What?s next? Are we going to claim that it was an ?outrage? that the Israelis used tanks and planes too? That is SO unfair! Maybe it was an outrage that their guns were better than Hezbollah?s. And maybe their uniforms are outrageous because they made them look spiffier than the crud covered terrorists! After all this war did have a strong media pr blitz component to it and we would not want the terrorists to not look good on TV.
Even if Israel fought this battle with sticks and rocks and beat the crap out of Hezbollah with them the United Nothings at the United Nations would still call the use of these primitive weapons an ?outrage?. After all we cannot be ?outraged? about how Hezbollah continued to besiege Israeli civilians with hundreds of rockets in the same time frame!
No, that just wouldn?t be PC. And besides, who really likes those damn Israelis anyway right?

What Do You Mean? We Have a Plan?
Don?t look now moonbats, but there actually IS a plan for Iraq.
Maybe the fact that the plan is so simple and not some convoluted, socialist, Rube Goldberg government welfare plan maintained by an unwieldy bureaucracy is why the left has failed to recognize it. But it has always been thus:
1) Hold Saddam Hussein accountable for violating the cease-fire by taking him out
2) Help Iraq form its own government
3) Help Iraq get that government running and train Iraqis to defend themselves
4) Come home
It?s called in even simpler terms ?win?.
But still the drumbeat continues about how there is no plan.
Forget that items one and two are completed, item 3 is in progress and then item 4 will follow. No, there is simply ?no plan? if you listen to your average moonbat leftist who consults a Magic 8-Ball for advice. Heck a couple successful elections and relative calm in 95% of the country means nothing to liberals more concerned with political agendas.
And now this update on the progress:
WASHINGTON ? Iraq’s armed forces are being primed to take near-total control of the country within 18 months, America’s senior commander in Baghdad said yesterday. The comments by one of America’s most senior officers, General George Casey, offered a rare glimpse into the American military’s timetable for leaving Iraq.
“I can see over the next 12 to 18 months the Iraqi security forces progressing to a point where they can take on the security responsibilities for the country, with very little coalition support,” General Casey said in Baghdad. ? New York Sun
But no. Iraq is a “quagmire”; another “Vietnam”. And all because Iraq is not granting gays the right to marry, funding crucifixes in jars of urine as art, teaching their children to put condoms on cucumbers, embracing millions of illegal aliens, and denouncing the evil George Bush and proclaiming his personal role in the 9/11 attacks.
Heaven forbid.

Pro-Illegal Immigration NAZIs On The March
This email is from FIRE Coalition
Hey Gang,
The Open Borders Lobby (OBL) and their supporters are at it again. Due to their shenanigans (e.g. attacks on our website and other similar ploys), we have been forced to make more modifications to our FIRECoalition.com website. During this period, you may notice the website does not load or has a “placeholder” page. As a result, some of the links below may not work for 24 hours.
Please forgive the delay. It goes to show that our efforts are severely impacting the opposition. We include all of you in that equation. Due to your support, and efforts, individually and collectively in the FIRE Teams across the U.S., we are holding strong to the Constitution of the United States.
Keep up the great work and we will continue to support you in these efforts. Some of the more recent notable efforts that you may have seen are as follows:
The first law suit has been filed in the state of California against an employer of illegal aliens. This suit was filed by our ally at IllegalEmployers.org. We are regularly supplying them with “inside” information about many of the illegal employers that are brought to our attention through our Illegal Employer database WeHireAliens.com.
Speaking of WeHireAliens.com, we continue to help bring visibility to these companies and get success stories on occasion as to the effect we are having out there.
Our newly redesigned Events Page has been widely praised by you all out there, making it easier to get involved on a local level.
And speaking of local involvement, we are continually helping to stand up local FIRE Teams across the U.S. As you all know, without “boots on the ground” locally to raise awareness and apply pressure, we will not succeed. So if you would like to get in touch with a local FIRE Team, be sure to update your FIRE Coalition Profile and then visit our FIRE Teams Listing to get in touch with one of the leaders. Additionally, if you would like to start a new FIRE Team in your area, update your profile to reflect that you want to help organize things in your area.Of course, none of this is without cost (especially with the recent attacks on our sites), so if you appreciate the things that FIRE Coalition is doing to fight the illegal alien invasion, please consider making a donation online here or send a check to:

Liberals Are Liberals ? Obrador Says Viva La Revolution!
Andr?s Manuel L?pez Obrador who lost Mexico?s latest election is showing the world what left wing moonbat liberals do when they cannot win. They say ?screw the election? and ?screw the law? and declare themselves leader!
MEXICO CITY - Andr?s Manuel L?pez Obrador, convinced he won’t be awarded the presidency, has vowed to create a parallel leftist government and is urging Mexicans not to recognize the apparent victory of the ruling party’s Felipe Calder?n.While his party lacks the seats in Congress to block legislation, L?pez Obrador can mobilize millions to pressure his conservative rival to adopt the left’s agenda — or to clamp down and risk a backlash.
Both scenarios are possibilities as the former Mexico City mayor lays out plans to create his own government to rule from the streets, with the support of thousands who are already occupying protest camps throughout downtown Mexico City. Some predict his parallel initiative — which L?pez Obrador’s supporters call the “legitimate government” — could turn those protest camps into the core of a violent revolt, especially if the government tries to shut it down.
Such violence broke out in the southern city of Oaxaca after Gov. Ulises Ruiz sent police to evict striking teachers. Outraged citizens’ groups joined the protests, setting fire to buildings and public buses, seizing radio and TV stations and forcing the closure of businesses in a city known throughout the world as a quaint tourist destination.
“Everything we do, from property taxes to permits to natural resources, will go through the ‘legitimate government,’ ” said Severina Mart?nez, a school teacher from Oaxaca camped out in a tent in Mexico City’s main Zocalo plaza. “We won’t have anything to do with the official government.’ “? Mercury News
Uh, maybe this was a translation problem here but aren?t ?legitimate? and ?official? basically synonyms there Comrade Martinez? Why YES they are! (source: thesaurus.com) And this woman is a teacher? Boy their education system in Mexico must be worse than the one here in the States!
Obrador lost but instead of just conceding he has decided that he and his followers of the failed ideas of socialism and communism are simply just going to install themselves as rulers of Mexico apparently.
Impressive. Most impressive! After all who cares what the law says right? Apparently Mexico?s constitution is a ?living document? just like ours here in the United States (at least according to the liberals) and can be changed upon a whim when it suits the Mexican liberals.
Make no mistake. This move is the first in an attempt by Obrador to take over the country by force. He already has the support of many Mexican citizens and to mobilize them and plunge the country into a civil war would not take much effort. But before he can do that he has to set up a command structure ? uh ? I mean ?legitimate government.?
And I guarantee you that if Obrador was in power and someone tried this under his rule they would be squashed like bugs for liberals are not quite as understanding or compassionate as they claim to be.
Meanwhile the left here in America will be watching eagerly to see if such a coup is possible. And if it is look for one if they loose in 2008.

Armitage Was Source For Plame Info And Fitzgerald Knew It
So, after years of time wasted, millions of tax dollars spent, personal and professional lives dragged through the mud it appears that Fitzgerald knew from very early on who the source of information concerning Ms. Valerie “I Blew My Cover” Plame was. And it was not Rove, Libby, Cheney, Bush or another high-ranking White House official with an ax to grind. And further it seems as though this information was available to the prosecution but they stumbled along anyway looking for the mysterious blue dress that did not exist here.
After all, this whole dog and pony show was about getting even for the impeachment of Clinton who committed a real crime by stonewalling the due process rights of an American citizen. Yes, I know the liberals claim it was “just about sex” with Clinton. But the truth of the matter was that when Clinton suborned perjury to prevent a woman named Paula Jones from getting her fair day in court he crossed the line to committing a high crime against the Constitution.
And the left has never lived that down. After all, the Constitution is SO dated.
So for 6 years they have been throwing as much spaghetti against the wall as they can to see if anything would stick. And they really thought they had something with “Plamegate”. But it turns out the facts were known. And while moonbats were publicly throwing out conspiracy theories and calling for Rove to be “frog marched” out of the White House all we got in their quest for revenge was another bill for the tax payers of the United States to pay.

President Bush - More Unconstitutional Spending And Commitments
President Bush is no conservative. He is some weird form of “moderate” conservative on some issues but not above calling for the redistributing wealth outside of the bounds of the powers of Congress in Article I, Section 8. He is still promising more federal dollars to help clean up after Katrina.
BILOXI, Miss. — President Bush yesterday toured the Gulf Coast in the run-up to today’s Hurricane Katrina anniversary and rebutted charges that his administration had botched relief efforts, saying the federal government had provided money and the actual work needs to be done by the region’s governments.“What we’re trying to do is just help you. The spirit’s here, the people want to succeed, and our job at the federal level is to help you succeed,” Mr. Bush said. - Washington Times
I do not care if you think that he should and feel the government should help out. The issue is that such spending is still unconstitutional.
And it just is not President Bush and the left-wing lite Republicans. It is even the Democrats (I know BIG surprise!).
But 25 House Democrats are countering Mr. Bush by planning to tour parts of the Gulf Coast this week. House Democrats have released a series of reports faulting the federal government for shortchanging housing and schools, for racking up wasteful spending, and for failing to ensure contracts go to small businesses.House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, called the federal government’s response a “tragedy.”
“Hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens still await the help in rebuilding their hospitals, schools, businesses and homes that was promised last fall,” she said.
Of course you expect this kind of socialist claptrap from, well, a socialist. But the fact is we are so far in over a head with unconstitutional government in America that no one really cares. And everyone is just looking for his or her piece of the pie. Even if they didn’t contribute to the funding of that pie.

Terrorism Like Liberalism An Ideology of Lies
I was reading this article at WorldNetDaily yesterday and had a laugh! Apparently the terrorists have the same philosophy as the left wing here in America. That philosophy is who cares if you don’t succeed - just lie about it!
TEL AVIV ? The kidnappers of two Fox News journalists who were released earlier today claim they received guarantees from European mediators that American would pressure Israel into concessions, a terror leader in the Gaza Strip told WorldNetDaily.“European mediators promised that they received pledges from the United States to pressure Israel into ending raids in Gaza, the razing of Palestinian homes and the killings of our leaders. It was on this basis that the reporters were freed,” Abu Mujaheed, a leader and spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees terror group told WND.
Abu Mujaheed claimed his group was not involved in the kidnappings. But he said he was “certain” of the European pledges.
A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry in Israel said the Jewish state was not involved in any mediation efforts and made “no agreements whatsoever” for the return today of Fox News reporter Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig.
A Ministry official, speaking on condition of anonymity, doubted the terror leader’s claims. He speculated the abductors were trying to “save face” by claiming they extracted concessions for the kidnapping.
These are people that have to extract false conversions to Islam at the point of a gun and they think they are actually relevant? I am sure a lot of their supporters will simply believe this too. Sounds a lot like liberal voters. You know the ones. The ones that were told about how the Republicans were out to destroy Social Security and that they were going to institute a draft if re-elected in 2004?
What?s a few lies among fellow travelers though right?
