An Inconvenient Truth For Al Gore

Al Gore’s movie, An Inconvenient Truth, which peddles the same tired and repeated doomsday messages about humanity sputters. It can’t even get released wider than a handful of theaters. In fact, this weekend it is finally moving into a WHOPPING “562 theaters this weekend” (source). WOOHOO!

Folks, 562 theaters is a paltry number. And the movie itself is attracting little attention outside of talk radio and the radical left. The movie has also grossed an anemic $15,230,313 in the 48 days (6.9 weeks) since it was released with an opening weekend of $281,330 (source:boxofficemojo.com)

Heck, even Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow which was, at best, a C+ cult movie grossed $57,846,375 in the 13.7 weeks it was out and found itself in over 3,000 theaters.

The “Inconvenient Truth” for Al Gore, as much as he likes to toot his own horn talking about discredited climate models such as the infamous “hockey stick” theory, is that few outside of liberal hotbeds are clamoring to see his movie. And most of these are the same people who in the 1970’s were sure we we’re headed for the next ice age.

In the end, Al Gore continues to search for relevance.
