Another Bleeding Heart Lib Bemoans Gitmo

The marching orders must have gone out because the liberal hand wringing over Guantanamo Bay is getting worse. From the State that has as their Senators a self professed war criminal and a murderer (Massachusetts) comes this in the Berkshire Eagle

Imagine the uproar in the United States if Americans were kept in a foreign prison camp for years without trial or even the prospect of one on the suspicion of being terrorists. We would be justifiably outraged, yet this is exactly what has been taking place at Guantanamo since just after September 11, 2001. Guantanamo didn’t become a disgrace when three prisoners killed themselves last weekend, it has been one for nearly five years, and it is past time for it to be shut down.

Translation: *sniff: whiney voice* W - why won’t that evil fascist NAZI dictator George Bush treat people trying to kill us in a time of war the way we want them to be treated?

Americans have the constitutional right to a fair and speedy trial, but our rights are rendered meaningless if we deny them to others on American soil, which Guantanamo officially is. There are currently 460 detainees there, most of them captured in the brief Afghan war following the 2001 terrorist assault on America, and only 10 have been charged with any crimes. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2004 that the Bush administration had no right to hold anyone without charges at Guantanamo, but the prisoners continue to rot there, far from home and family.

Translation: *sniff: even whinier voice* They are just people and, sure they are trying to kill us but that doesn’t mean that we can’t let them run free! Be free! FREE!

Many countries in the Middle East suspect that prisoners there have been tortured, and why shouldn’t they, given that prisoners were tortured by American soldiers at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq?

Jane you ignorant slut!

See, this is the kind of crap that causes the enemy to look at America and say “If we only hold on for another couple month they’ll leave. The Americans are losing their will.”

They believe that there is torture going on because liberals in the guise of journalists keep calling underwear on the head and meals better than our soldiers eat “torture”.

Arrgh. This - this is just absolutely ridiculous. If you want to read the final couple paragraphs of this blame America for the Islamo-facsist terrorists wanting to kill us insanity follow the link.

Maybe we should start a program where we air lift in these touchy-feely lefties and let them talk face to face with the terrorists. It would kill two birds with one stone. First it would make the liberals “feel” like they were doing something good and second it would give the terrorists some infidels to behead.

Go back to playing with your toys. Us adults have a county to run.
