If You Don’t Know The Constitution You Should NOT Be Teaching Our Children

I swear that a liberal’s understanding of the Constitution doesn’t go much beyond the following:
1) It says right there “promote the general Welfare”! That means we can do whatever we want!
2) There is something in the first amendment about government not being allowed to even acknowledge that any religions exist.
3) When the founders said that the people have a “right to keep and bear arms” they didn’t really mean it.
4) That the judicial branch is supposed to make law
5) There is no acknowledgement of the right to life in the Constitution
6) Eminent domain means that government can take anyone’s land at any time for whatever purpose
and
7) That when they win the popular vote but lose the electoral college that their guy should be President anyway
That’s basically it it seems at times. And as further evidence I present this story from the Alliance Defense Fund:
WILMINGTON, N.C. ? Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund have filed a federal civil rights lawsuit in defense of a Midway High School ninth-grader. The student was given a school suspension last Thursday to be served on Monday for distributing Day of Truth message cards to his classmates during non-instructional time.
The school’s reason?
Sampson County Board of Education Superintendent Stewart Hobbs responded that religious T-shirts would not be allowed and that no religious literature could be distributed because Arthurs would be ?pushing his religion on others? and ?religion is not allowed in school.?
Excuse me? “Religion is not allowed in school”?
Oh, that’s right! It’s point number 2 above about government not being able to even look cross-eyed at a church.
Too bad that comrade Hobbs proves my point. He is basically saying “Dee dee dee! Duh! We’re not establishing like a religion here! Duh!” and showing that he has never heard of the 14th amendment or actually read the first one.
Let’s review kiddies. I’ll put the pertinent passages in italics AND bold because I know that people like Mr. Hobbs are easily distracted and need to be pointed right to the important stuff. Once again:
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
AMENDMENT XIV
Section 1.
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States
Now, for the mentally slow among us (that means you liberals) this means that NO public (state or local) institution can PROHIBIT THE FREE EXCERCISE OF RELIGION!
So where does he get off saying “religion is not allowed in school”? I don’t think that is your call to make yummy brain. It’s already been decided!
It is also important to know that Mr. Hobbs’ argument that “religious T-shirts would not be allowed and that no religious literature could be distributed because Arthurs would be ?pushing his religion on others?” is specious since students at the school were allowed to participate in the pro-homosexual “Day of Silence” around students whose religion says that homosexuality is wrong.
So once again, liberals tell us what they REALLY think. Everyone can force Christians who think homosexuality is a sin to listen to them in a public school and force their religion upon others. But when Christians who think homosexuality is wrong want to say what they think it’s time to shut them up and intimidate them because … well … we know they are just nasty bigots and they shouldn’t be allowed to speak anyway.
