How bad is life in Mexico? So bad that 10% of their population doesn’t even live there and 14% of their work force is in the United States. Talk about failed social and political experiments!
Washington — The current migration of Mexicans and Central Americans to the United States is one of the largest diasporas in modern history, experts say.Roughly 10 percent of Mexico’s population of about 107 million is now living in the United States, estimates show. About 15 percent of Mexico’s labor force is working in the United States. One in every 7 Mexican workers migrates to the United States.
Mass migration from Mexico began more than a century ago. It is deeply embedded in the history, culture and economies of both nations. The current wave began with Mexico’s economic crisis in 1982, accelerated sharply in the 1990s with the U.S. economic boom, and today has reached record dimensions. – San Francisco Chronicle
Mexico is awash in human capital. 107 million is roughly a third of the population of the United States. There is absolutely no excuse why in a country with that many people, with as much natural beauty as Mexico has and with the abundance of natural resources Mexico has for this to be the case.
I said there is no excuse. But there is a good reason – political and social corruption. Mexico fails to protect the rights of its citizens to own property. Squatting is rampant. And the air of entitlement is thick. But when a country doesn’t even recognize the basic rights of its citizens how can they be expected to prosper?
So they do what all failed political systems do. They find the country that at least has a functioning governmental system and dump their problems upon them. It doesn’t solve their own problems but it makes them less prominent. And when, as a country, you are simply trying to minimize the damage of your own policies you are in deep trouble.
And as long as we continue to let Mexico dump their problems on us and as long as we continue to prop up the failed system south of the border instead of letting it fail we only continue to exasperate the problem. We, as Americans, have a habit of doing this. When the best thing to do in the long run is teach those that we prop up to fish and fix their own problems and become self reliant instead of continually handing them a fish every time they ask.

I had over 100 employees on three shifts working for me and most of the american citizens were not just lazy but not willing to help one another. The Mexican employees not only wanted to work hard but would help anyone that asked for it who ever they may be. When in the break room , I saw american citizens laugh at others about being hungry and not having food to eat ,on the other hand the mexican employees put all the food together and share the food to anyone in need who ever they may be . I do understand that there is a problem of our goverment not being able to take care of all the illegal immigrants health care and they should pay taxes by the way my employees were legal but I also helped them with doing so.

Indeed Mexico really sucks! I am from there. But do not blame the land, Mexico has a beatiful territory. People is the problem here. People is lazy, conformist and stupid. Religion is their main problem, I will apologize in advance about I am going to say: Mexicans believe their beloved God will aid them to save their asses all the time they prefer to stay in Churches waiting for a miracle instead of doing the hard work, that is why they are lazy people and get happy with everything that make them more lazy. I am Mexican I do not like my country, still, I feel like a stranger here, nevertheless I do not like USA but they have better econonomy and culture of positive thinking. You did not even address the point which is that if Mexico did not suck so bad (been there, seen it first hand) there would be no reason to hop the border and come here. But Mexico is a hell hole outside of the carefully patrolled and regulated resort areas. And the reason is none other than the Mexican people who are quite frankly too lazy to make their own country better. So many of them come here, break the law as their first act, steal identities often as their second to get jobs that they could not other wise get and then just keep breaking laws from there on out.

Why finding a job in my home country sucks? Well it could be the socialist state that Mexico is does not provide the opportunity. The squatting alone is horrendous and there is no real respect for basic rights like property.

I am mexican-american and I say keep the good ones and deport the bad ones that come over to form gangs and bring in drugs. There are a lot of mexican-americans that help the united states in many ways some of them represent the U.S and win olympic medals for this great country something that would have never happend for them in mexico so its a win-win for the united states and the immigrant. start small and focus on the people who destroy infrastructure in urban cities with gang-related graffit. Its understandable that many americans feel invaded but go after the trouble makers first there are people who come here for a better life and work really hard for that to happen and there is nothing wrong with that. So the goverment should learn to manage escalating tensions and act! First with the worst of the bunch and then with immigration reform a system that won’t allow criminals to enter the country.
