Here’s Another Good Idea!

The two Senators and the Representatives from Alaska should stand up in Congress and say the following:

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are here today to inform you that starting immediately we are begining to drill in ANWR since the region exists within the borders of the State of Alaska. We understand that this move might be controversial. We understand that some of you may not like it. But seeing as how ANWR is in Alaska it is our opinion that control of the land belongs to the people of our State.

Now, some of you may be inclined to try and stop us from drilling. That is fine. But be warned that if you do not support our State tapping into our own natural resources then we will have to take serious action.

That “action” to which we speak of will be denying use of oil currently be recovered through the Alaskan Pipleline to be used to in any way benefit your State. Oil leases will be revoked for any company found in violation and if need be we will mobilize the Alaskan National Guard to enforce this policy. And it is with great pleasure that we announce that the great State of Texas and the fine State of Louisiana have also agreed to do the same.

Could you just imagine how the liberals would squirm at the thought of the three largest oil producing states banding together against all the rest who sit there year after year and tell them “No, you can’t drill for oil in your State”?
