Can Cindy Buy Another 15 Minutes?
J.J. Jackson* | April 13, 2006
The reality is that she is certainly trying very hard. WorldNetDaily reports on her latest tirade where she continues to use her left wing rhetoric:
“I am so tired of the Rovian, heartless, and ignorant smear machine attacking me and my family at every turn of my back,”
I’m confused Cindy. People are attacking your family now? I haven’t heard much of this. I have however heard them confronting you specifically while supporting the decisions of your son who gave his life in defense of this country.
It’s yet a further attempt by a never-will-be to try and make everything seem oh so much worse than it really is. And the best part about this is she continues to prove to everyone that it is all about her:
For the first year after Casey was killed, I didn’t want to believe it. I didn’t want to place a TOMBstone on my son’s grave. I didn’t want one more marble proof that my son was dead. I couldn’t even call where he was buried a “cemetery,” I had to call it “Casey’s Park.” I placed fresh flowers in the cup every week and journaled there almost on a daily basis, and often laid on it and fell asleep and dreamed of my needlessly killed son. Have any of these people who claim that I am pissing on my son’s grave even visited him? Have they visited the grave of any soldier needlessly or senselessly killed in George’s war of choice for oil and profit?
And then of course when she is done making it all about her she resorts to focusing on President Bush. It’s the same argument that she tried to use when she first came on the seen except now rewritten. You know the if YOU didn’t lose a son how dare YOU speak up against me. She continues:
Have they sobbed uncontrollably for my first born who shouldn’t even need a gravestone? No, all they want to do is attack a mother who wants to prevent other people from having to bury their own child. They want to perpetuate a war that has already killed many thousands of our fellow human beings for absolutely nothing. …
Hey Cindy, remember your son volunteered and then re-enlisted - apparently we know why more and more each time you speak up.
There are many people whom the Bush regime has killed, either directly or indirectly, by their murderous policies: there are people buried under rubble of Iraq and who were buried under the rubble of the World Trade Towers, and if their families were lucky they could find small parts to bury, before their remains were carted away in the enormous trucks and barges; there are people still unaccounted-for in the swamps of New Orleans and in refrigerated trucks in Mississippi that will never even have graves, let alone gravestones. The Bush regime is good for business, all right; especially the funeral business.
So I thought that it would be instructive to continue to point out to the delusional Mother Sheehan that her opinions are not widely held among military families.
The following is from Diane Ibbotson, Gold Star Mother:
Dear friend:
When my husband and I heard that our son Forest was going to Iraq, we were concerned - like any parents would be whose son was going into harm’s way.
But we knew that Forest believed in the mission. In fact, he signed up for active duty after the September 11, 2001 attacks because he wanted to defend our country from terrorists.Tragically, Forest was killed on a volunteer mission - with Cindy Sheehan’s son Casey - to set up a medical evacuation point for fellow soldiers wounded and trapped in an abandoned building.
I will never forget the day we received the news that Forest had given his life for his country.
Unlike Cindy Sheehan, however, my family determined that we would continue the fight against terror that our son gave his life for.
That is why we joined Families United for Our Troops and Their Mission.
As someone who has personally borne the costs of this war, we know the loss; we know the grief.
We just wish the media would give half as much attention to the accomplishments.
Please join my family in asking the national media to recognize Iraqi Liberation Week on April 9th through the 15th. Don’t let them ignore this milestone!
All you have to do is go to www.FamiliesUnitedMission.com/letter, sign the letter and forward it to your friends.
Sincerely,
Diane Ibbotson
