Top Democrats Continue To Aid And Comfort
J.J. Jackson* | March 12, 2006
It’s not unusual. Throughout the history of the modern Democratic Party there have always been those among them that have not acted in America’s best interest. Everything from the advent of the modern socialist society with FDR to Joe Kennedy making excuses for Hitler to the constant support for the Communists in Vietnam to today when they make it all to clear to islamofascists that there are weaknesses to be exploited.
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist tore into his Senate colleague, Russ Feingold, on Sunday, saying the Wisconsin Democrat’s plan to introduce a resolution of censure against President Bush in a time of war would give aid and comfort to America’s enemies. - NewsMax.com
Frist said
“We are right now in a war, in an unprecedented war - where we do have people who really want to take us down . . . So the signal that is sends, that there is in any way a lack of support for our Commander-in-Chief, who is leading us with a bold vision in a way that we know is making our homeland safer, is wrong.”
Well, that is clear to most people. But it seems however that those to whom it is not so clear are the constituency of Russ Feingold.
Why would he want to censure the President? Because he doesn’t care about the ramifications of his actions but rather sees it as a way to secure political power. Such shortsightedness is idiotic and stupid and hardly worthy of a Senator. Especially when he knows that the odds of it passing is nil.
It’s political pandering at its worst because it does indeed weaken American efforts abroad, endanger our soldiers and show the enemy that they can still have hope of winning so long as the political left has any power in this country and the potential to be in control of the government.
It is the textbook definition of giving aid and comfort to the enemy. And such is clearly defined in the Constitution as one thing - treason. But if you ever try to pin that on a liberal they’ll just see it as “proof” that we live in a fascist state and that Bush really is Hitler. After all their reality is so skewed that they still believe to this day that Social Security, Welfare and tearing America down are good, right and proper even when the Constitution they claim to vehemently to believe in says otherwise.
