NOW Is The Only Group Here That Is “Corrupt”
J.J. Jackson* | March 1, 2006
The score was 8-0. No, that isn’t the final score of a Yankees - Pirates game but rather the score in the Supreme Court against the National Organization for Woman which is not really for women but rather for aborting women. In the court, again, NOW was struck down as for the THIRD time they tried to get federal RICO statutes applied to abortion protesters out side of clinics spouting the radical idea that murdering children is bad.
The Pro-Life Action League won their defense against the limited candlepower of the left wing when the Supreme Court said rightfully that RICO did not apply. For reference RICO is the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. That’s right, NOW’s position is that it is the abortion protesters that are “corrupt” and “racketeering”. Don’t laugh - this is typical for the left.
Ok - go ahead - laugh. It IS funny!
One can only imagine the conversation that went on between the Justices on this one. And you know you have a weak case when you can’t even get the court’s more liberal (and non-constitution abiding members) to side with you. I mean with the plethora of foreign law out there and all …
I’m just wondering whether it was Ginsberg, Souter or Breyer that stood up and said “Hey, I’m a liberal nut case but not even I can find support for this argument!”
