Bob Schieffer Whines

CBS “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer lashed out at the U.S. military on Sunday, saying top generals need to “stop blaming the media” for negative coverage of the Iraq war. - NewsMax.com
Last week General Pace had some harsh words for the media complaining about how the media only showed the bad news and “the same bomb going off every 15 minutes on television, as opposed to having an opportunity to see all of what?s happening in Iraq”
It is true however. What has the mainstream media’s coverage of Iraq been? Little more than talk about the latest IED to explode, the number of soldiers wounded or killed and how many Iraqi citizens the terrorists have killed. All very SERIOUS issues to be sure however what about everything else?
What? You mean there are OTHER things happening in Iraq? You’d never know it from the stories in the major newspapers and news networks!
When the mosques are being blown up you hear non-stop coverage about how this is it! Civil war is just around the corner! OH MY GOD! But when the civil war does not materialize, you barely hear the stories about how leaders from all sides stepped in to bring calm. Or if you do it gets maybe one story compared to the five or ten that were written about the impending disaster.
So in the end what do we have? Instead of the liberal media admitting that maybe they are doing something wrong they do what they always do - they attack our soldiers.
