Tom Toles’ Reality Not Reality
J.J. Jackson* | February 2, 2006
Editorial cartoonist Tom Toles thought it was “a fair depiction of the reality of the situation” (breitbart.com) to display the United States Military as battered, bruised and injured when he penned his cartoon depicting a soldier who had lost his limbs being called “battle hardened” by Donald Rumsfeld.
Mr. Toles thinks that this is a fair representation of our military? Mr. Toles thinks that this is the kind of thing Rumsfeld would actually say?
To be funny something must have an air of truth. To the left, in order to be funny something just has to be perceived to be true by them. Facts be damned.
Hello, Earth calling! How many times do you have to see military families that don’t stand with Cindy Sheehan or military veterans stand up in townhall meetings berating members of Congress that call our military broken to get it through your thick skull that your reality is not reality? How many more times do you need to make a fool out of yourself before you realize that people aren’t listening to you?
I don’t want you guys and gals to stop doing what you are doing. Really I don’t. Because it just continues to show how detacted from reality you really are.
