Bush Says He Will Veto Any Bill to Stop UAE Port Deal
Tuesday, February 21, 2006Administration OK With UAE Running Six Major U.S. Ports
WASHINGTON ? In a rare threat to use his veto power, President Bush said Tuesday he will stop any legislation that attempts to prevent the purchase by a United Arab Emirates-owned firm of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co., which runs six major U.S. ports. - Fox News
Hey, that’s fine with me Mr. President but you dig your own political grave by doing so. You have a chance to actually show you care about securing this nation AT HOME and still we can’t get you to secure the damn borders and major points of entry (i.e. our ports). There is so much that we have to accomplish and you’re chosing to distract attention away from all the important issues.
The 3 BIG ones are:
1) Secure our borders.
2) Reform the tax code.
3) Revamp the welfare state so it will die off under its own weight.
But we cannot even get past the FIRST one! Keep it up. You’re really pushing conservatives to look for another party to support in 2008 you know that?
They ought to listen to what I have to say to this. I’ll deal with it with a veto,” Bush told reporters
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again … I DON’T trust you on this issue!
