Left Hand Doesn’t Know What Right Hand Is Doing

The prevailing opinion among the Democratic Party is that they “support the troops” but not the war. I say prevailing because there are some in the party that don’t support the troops at all and some that both support the troops and the war. But it would be nice that if they really DID “support the troops”.

The DFL, that’s the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, in Minnesota however has once again come out and called our troops “liars”. Why are they “liars”? Because they don’t espouse the prevailing Democratic Party line. Really what the Democrats should just say is they “support the troops as long as they support our position“.

Reports WorldNetDaily Brian Melendez called an add featuring three soldiers (Staff Sgt. Marcellus Wilks, Capt. Mark Weber of Iowa and Lt. Col. Bob Stephenson) “un-American, untruthful and a lie” (source Powerline).

“The ads erroneously make a connection between Iraq and the 9/11 terrorists attacks and suggest that the war in Iraq will prevent an attack by Al Queda in America. The 9/11 Commission findings clearly state that there was no connection between Iraq and the the [sic] Al Queda terrorists attacks on 9/11. We must call for media responsibility regarding this issue.”

however WND correctly points out that the Democrats (as is usual these days it seems) are wrong. Stating “the ad does not refer to the contentious claim that Iraq was connected to 9-11, alluding only to the fact that the coalition’s No. 1 enemy in the country is Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, leader of the terrorist group known as Al-Qaida’s Jihad Committee in Iraq.”

Melendez is also quoted as saying “this ad is about lies.”

Yep, way to support our troops. Calling them “liars” is support? I guess this is the same as considering spitting on them and calling them “baby killers” after Vietnam was support also huh?

Heaven forbid that soldiers tell what they think right? But I am sure that if Cindy Sheehan was available to speak at your next committee meeting you’d jump at the chance to have her there!

As usual, the left doesn’t want free and open discourse. They only want their opinions heard. Which is understandable since when confronted with opposing points of view the typical liberal response is to run home screaming to mommy that someone dared to challenge them. So I guess it isn?t so unusual that they would cower from soldiers daring to tell it like it is.
