Lawyers Playing Games With Terrorists?
J.J. Jackson* | February 19, 2006
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man accused of attending an al-Qaida training camp is a trained terrorist intent on attacking Americans, prosecutors alleged Thursday, but his attorney called him just a directionless young man prone to wild storytelling.
Wazhma Mojaddidi, Hamid Hayat attorney said that the government has no proof he attended a terrorist camp. No proof? Not even Ms. Mojaddidi denies that he said that he had done these things simply saying that her client “has made statements that are just simply not true.”
So she admits that he said that he had done these things. No proof? I laugh! Someone should have her law license reexamined! It may turn out that indeed his stories were made up but to say there is “no proof” when the defendant admitted to such things is a lark and hardly something a lawyer whose job it is to see that the truth is told should be saying and misleading the public.
If he lied then prove that - but don’t lie yourself and say there is “no proof”.
