Bond Denies Remarks
J.J. Jackson* | February 6, 2006
Stung by national criticism of a speech in which he reportedly equated the Republican Party and Nazis, Julian Bond, the chairman of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, denies the comments attributed to him by members of the audience and has lashed out at WND as a “right-wing blog.” - WorldNetDaily
According to WorldNetDaily Fayetteville State University in North Carolina refuses however to release a transcript of the event but merely claims that no such remarks were made. Last week Project 21, a group of black conservatives, lashed out at Bond over the comments.
WorldNetDaily called the response “carefully worded” noted that it merely claim that Mr. Bond never mentioned the Nazi Party. However the original WND article claimed Mr. Bond only said “The Republican Party would have the American flag and the swastika flying side by side.”
A tap dance by the University? Perhaps.
But the question remains why not just release the tap and let everyone see if the accusations are based in facts? Why do liberals hide themselves? I’m not ashamed of my opinions. That’s why I put them out there for everyone to see.
Maybe Mr. Bond didn’t say what he is accused of saying. But why not just put the issue to rest once and for all if he didn’t by releasing the tape?
