FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Congressman Mike Doyle Claims Troops To Come Home Because of Murtha!
==================================================================================
Democratic Strategy regarding Murtha’s remarks and troops drawdown in Iraq unfolding as foreseen. The our troops will be home “because of us” strategy is in play.
===================================================================================
Congressman Mike Doyle (D) of Pennsylvania?s 14th Congressional District states in his ?December 2005 Iraq Update Newsletter? what many had thought would be the DNC strategy regarding how to make themselves seem credible on Iraq while generally opposing cart blanche the military operations there.
?[O]nly now, after Congressman Murtha spoke out, has the Bush administration begun suggesting that a drawdown is possible.” ? Congressman Mike Doyle
That?s right, ?only? because Congressman Murtha spoke up will a drawndown of troops be possible! However in the same newsletter and immediately preceding this claim Mr. Doyle said ?”For months now the Pentagon has been anticipating, if not actively planning, a major drawdown of U.S. forces in Iraq in the coming year.?
As J.J. Jackson , President of Land of the Free Studios Inc. and Editor of The Land of the Free and American Conservative Daily, put it ?First he admits that the Pentagon has been working on figuring out how to get out troops home (i.e by WINNING the war!) and then in the next breath he says that it was because of Congressman Murtha! Mind up your make! This is double talk worthy of Senator John “I actually did vote for the $87 Billion before I voted against it” Kerry!?
In fact how far removed from reality is Congressman Doyle? On September 29, 2005, well before Murtha spouted off, Elaine Grossman wrote on insidedefense.com Inside The Pentagon ?A wide-ranging U.S. military plan for reducing forces in Iraq includes a best-case option to cut the ?steady state? of approximately 140,000 troops in half by spring 2006, according to officials who have seen the blueprint approved by Gen. George Casey, the top Army officer in Iraq.? And also ?Casey remarked in July that a ?substantial? force withdrawal could begin as early as next spring, pending continued progress in the political and security environment. Yet it is increasingly unclear if the situation on the ground will warrant significant reductions, according to a growing number of U.S. officials.?
So why play political games over something that is so demonstrably false that it is easily proven to be inaccurate if not a down right lie? The answer is because certain political elements in the country are predictable in their strategies for regaining power. Make a claim often and loud enough and get enough people to believe it and hopefully you will get enough votes to win an election. Substance be damned.
Land of the Free Studios Inc., which also operates American Infidel T-shirts and The Right Things, proudly supports our troops and the mission and bringing our young men and women home when the job is done and not using their sacrifice for political gain. And we hope that Congressman Doyle will from now on begin to talk with a little more truthfulness. And if not, hopefully he will be voted out of office with all do haste.
Laus Deo.
