Poor Little Innocent Migrant!

Mexico is just outraged that Guillermo Mart?nez Rodr?guez was shot and killed by a Border Patrol Agent last Friday.

Todd Fraser, a spokesman for the Border Patrol, acknowledged the shooting in a telephone interview on Tuesday, saying that an agent had “come under attack by an assailant who was throwing rocks.” The agent “fired back in self-defense,” Mr. Fraser said. Then, he said, the migrant climbed back over the fence and fled into Mexico.

That seems fair enough to me. I’m fairly certain a rock has the same capacity to kill someone as does a gun. If you have any doubt, just ask Goliath.

Mr. Fraser said he did not have a figure for the number of migrants shot by American border agents last year, but he said the number of rock attacks by migrants against agents in the San Diego area had increased to 218 incidents in 2005, from 112 in 2004. “The rock attacks are increasing, and that is attributed to the increased enforcement by our agents,” he said. “Smugglers are getting frustrated because they can’t get their loads through, and that results in more attacks on our officers.”

Mexican authorities, however, said the shooting reflected a growing hostility in the United States toward migrants. The authorities have used the shooting to draw attention to a law passed by Congress last month that would strengthen controls along the border and mandate the construction of miles of steel fences that Mexicans have likened to the Berlin Wall.

I wonder why Mexico even cares that Guillermo is dead now. Since he is no longer alive, he is no longer a burden on Mexico. Perhaps they are only upset that he died on the Mexican side of the border, where a Mexican hospital had to take care of him.

Nonetheless, where does Mexico get off saying that a United States Border Patrol Agent shot a Mexican national, assaulting that Agent with rocks, because of the growing hostility between American citizens and illegal immigrants? Perhaps these geniuses should see what it is like to be on the business end of a rock being thrown at you. I am not sure what it feels like, but I am quite certain that I would be in fear of my life.

This particular incident goes to further prove that we need something to keep your precious paisanos out of our country! If good ol’ Guillermo was not in our country illegally in the first place, he would not have been assualting a law enforcement officer in the United States and thus being taking out of this world and doing the rest of the world a favor.

Mexico, get a clue! This is not your country and you have no right telling us how to manage our security. Your hypocrisy is disgusting and just plain obvious.
