Gee, Could Have Told You This

Companies like NBC spend millions to develop and test out shows. Sometimes you wonder about if they are using that money in the best way. Heck for a fraction of that I could have told them that the Book of Daniel - a series about a pill popping priest and his dysfunctional family wasn’t going to be received too warmly.
In fact it has now been canned
“Unfortunately, due to many reasons, ‘The Book of Daniel’ will no longer be aired on NBC on Friday nights,” [creator Jack Kenny] wrote to fans. “I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ to all of you who supported the show. There were many wonderful, talented people who contributed to its success ? and I do mean success. Whatever the outcome, I feel that I accomplished what I set out to do: A solid family drama, with lots of humor, that honestly explored the lives of the Webster family. Good, flawed people, who loved each other no matter what … and there was always a lot of ‘what’! I remain proud of our product, proud of my association with Sony, NBC Universal, and NBC, who all took a chance on a project that spoke to them, and proud to have made an impact on so many of your lives.” - WorldNetDaily
“Due to many reasons” Mr. Kerry? Yeah, and let’s list them!
1) A pill popping priest
2) A drug dealing daughter
3) A homosexual son
4) Another son which is having sex with the bishops daughter
5) An quazi-alchoholic mother
Gee, I could have told you this! Who is going ot relate to this family? It’s so damn dysfunctional that I dare say about the only people watching were pill popping priests, homosexual sons, daughters dealing drugs and alcoholic women thinking “Hey, my life is bad but these people are PATHETIC!”
Hey NBC apparently you need some new blood in there to help you find shows that have a better chance of not flopping. For 6 figures I’m sure I could save you a boatload of money and embarrassment. Time to bring back Cosby!
