Narnia 3, Humpback 8
With the nominations for the Oscars released we again see that Hollywood thinks it knows a better movie than you do. Humpback Mountain received 8 nominations: Music, Writing (Adapted Screenplay), Actor in a Leading Role, Actor in a Supporting Role, Actress in a Supporting Role, Cinematography, Directing, and the all important Best Picture. Narnia a film that has dwarfed this movie received nominations for only the impressive categories of Sound Mixing, Visual Effects and Make up.
Ho hum.
How a picture that is barely even on the charts can be “Best Picture” much less even nominated is beyond me! So I just thought I would update you on the head to head battle between Narnia and Humpback Mountain which were both released on the same day. Stats courtesy of boxofficemojo.com:
Narnia:
Total Worldwide Gross: $634,152,732
Humpback Mountain:
Total Worldwide Gross: $62,344,000
Gee, which is “Best Picture” material? Well, outside of Hollywood it certainly isn’t a story about two gay cowboys.
Hello? Is anyone in Hollywood listening? Or are you still living in a fantasy land where you are so much smarter than the rest of us and know what is good for us that you are still going to go along with this charade?

I’m going to harken back to this NY Times/CBS poll (since liberals LOVE polls) just to reiterate how out of the “mainstream” every Democrat that voted “no” really is:
Question: “Do you think George W. Bush’s nominees to the U.S. Supreme Court have been more conservative than you would like, not conservative enough, or about right?”25% More 15% Not Enough 50% About Right
That’s right, 50% said Bush’s nominees were “about right while ONLY 25% said that they were too conservative. In other words MoveOn.org, Democratic Underground, 60’s retreads, etc.

Alito Confirmed (Liberals To Commit Suicide)
The Senate voted 58-42 on Tuesday to confirm Samuel Alito to the nation’s highest court, putting to bed the most partisan Supreme Court nomination battle in recent memory. - FoxNews
Knowing that America is DOOMED because a right wing, bigoted, anti-woman, anti-child, anti-little guy, anti-abortion nominee has been approved liberals across the country have taken the only step they have left and have begun to commit suicide. After all, it’s so hopeless and nothing can compare to the future of personal responsibility that they will now have to endure.
–Yeah, we can only wish!

Liberals Really ARE Like Children
My 3 year old nephew Kyle likes to grab some pot lids and run around the house banging them together to get attention. If you tell him to stop he just bangs louder until you take the lids away. His rationale is that he is getting attention and that he cannot hear you so he can keep doing it.
Liberals are the same way. Check out what they are planning for tonight in Washington DC during the State of the Union address
Liberal activists — among them graying leftovers from the Vietnam-era antiwar movement — plan to gather near the Capitol tonight, banging pots and pans to drown out President Bush’s State of the Union address. - Washington Times
OH JOY! A bunch of 3 year old Kyle’s!
And of course Mrs. Cindy “It’s All About Me” Sheehan plans to speak as well after hobnobbing with Venezuelan Marxist Hugo Chavez.
It laughable and sad at the same time. No one is listening to these 1960’s retreads except their fellow travelers so they have to resort to banging pots and pans to get people to take notice of them? What’s the matter? Someone need their red diaper changed?

Religious Idiots On Parade
I AM sorry, but I just have to comment on this idiocy. I was reading this article at WorldNetDaily this morning about one Mr. Ian Millar being offended by AOL’s new method of marketing some of it’s services such as Instant Messaging and Voice Chat.
The new marketing plan is to include logos that say “I AM Instant Messaging” and “I AM Voice Chat”. Mr. Millar’s complaint? The use of the phrase “I AM” takes the Lord’s name in vain.
The key scripture used to support the sacred name of God is Exodus 3:13-15: “And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.”
Oh BOY! Now THAT is a DOOSEY!
Mr. Millar, are you telling me that you, Mr. I speak for God, have never used the phrase “I AM”? You have never said “Honey, I AM going to the store” or “Sorry Bob, I AM going to watch the game on Sunday”? Maybe you’ve tried to use a legal loop hole and said “I’M” instead?
Give me a break. This is a prime example of how some people take their religion WAY to far in an attempt to find offense with something. It’s much like the how the left jumps through so many hoops and iterations and disconnects of logic to arrive at a conclusion just to give them something to complain about.
I demand that Mr. Millar’s entire life transcript be examined to see if he himself ever takes the Lord’s name in vain.
Oh, and just so Mr. Millar and other’s that actually believe the use of the phrase “I AM” is taking the Lord’s name in vain are on the same page as the rest of use “vain” means “in an irreverent or blasphemous manner”. Saying “I AM” something does neither.
Yet another victim has been created by his own hand. And this is the same kind of twisting of logic that while it starts out small, leads to terrible things - like the gassing of Jews.

Ok, I Got Reminded Of This Today
As often happens I have so much to talk about in any given day and when combined with graphics that I design for Right Things and American Infidel T-shirts and the web site updates on The Land of the Free things fall through the cracks. But today Carolyn over at The Voice reminded me of something I wanted to talk about when I saw the video clip on her main page.
The video is of Sgt. Mark Seavey telling off Congressmen Murtha and Moran at a townhall meeting saying
“Yes sir my name is Mark Seavey and I just want to thank you for coming up here. Until about a month ago I was Sgt Mark Seavey infantry squad leader, I returned from Afghanistan. My question to you, (applause)“Like yourself I dropped out of college two years ago to volunteer to go to Afghanistan, and I went and I came back. If I didn’t have a herniated disk now I would volunteer to go to Iraq in a second with my troops, three of which have already volunteered to go to Iraq. I keep hearing you say how you talk to the troops and the troops are demoralized, and I really resent that characterization. (applause) The morale of the troops that I talk to is phenomenal, which is why my troops are volunteering to go back, despite the hardships they had to endure in Afghanistan.
“And Congressman Moran, 200 of your constituents just returned from Afghanistan. We never got a letter from you; we never got a visit from you. You didn’t come to our homecoming. The only thing we got from any of our elected officials was one letter from the governor of this state thanking us for our service in Iraq, when we were in Afghanistan. That’s reprehensible. I don’t know who you two are talking to but the morale of the troops is very high.”
At the end they couldn’t even respond. It must suck when you’re caught being a couple blithering idiots and confronted by an opposing view eh Congressmen?
You can get the video of this exchange at Michelle Malkin’s website. It is a small cropped out version of the over 2 hour meeting that highlights this exchange and some worried looks on the faces of a couple Defeatocrats.

It’s “George Bush Kicks Puppies” All Over Again
Teddy Kennedy is going insane:
KENNEDY: Finally, I just say, Mr. President, if you are concerned and you want a justice that is going to stand for the working men and women in this country, it?s not going to be Judge Alito. If you are concerned about women?s privacy rights, about the opportunity for women to gain fair employment in America, it?s not Judge Alito. If you care about the disabled, the rehabilitation act that we passed, the ?idea? act to include children in our schools that we passed, that?s been on the books for 25 years, the disability act that we have passed to bring all of the disabled into our society, if you are looking for someone that is going to be a friend of the disabled, it?s not going to be judge alito. And finally, if you are looking for someone that is going to be willing to stand up to the executive branch of government at a time that he is going to exceed his power and authority and the law of this country, it is not going to be Judge Alito
That’s right, us EVIL conservatives are against working men and women. We’re against women getting employed, we’re against the children, we’re against the disabled, we’re against EVERYTHING! But what we are for is a totalitarian state!
Give me a break Teddy! Why not just go all the way! Say it! Judge Alioto (sic) kicks puppies and drains the blood from cats to use in his cookies, which he feeds to the neighborhood children. Come on Teddy, I know you had egg all over your face when you tried to paint Judge Alito as a sexist bigot only to be caught belonging to an all men?s club yourself, but that is no excuse to act like your typical member of MoveOn.org or Democrat Underground.

What Was That?
THUD
That sound, my friends, is the sound of a couple thousand hard core “We want the right to murder our babies” liberals passing out as news came today that the attempted filibuster to block cloture failed. The Senate voted 72-25 to end debate and vote on the nomination of Judge Alito tomorrow.
Now the best that the left can hope for is that Senator Teddy “The Swimmer” Kerry or Senator John “The War Criminal” Kerry will choose to martyr themselves, strap on a bomb vest and take out the Republican side of the Senate.
Sorry John, no Purple Heart if you do either.

Democratic Party Starting To Become A Party Of Differing Ideas?
Don’t hold your breath! It’s more about political maneuvering than actually allowing dissent from the left wing agenda in. But in the past week we have seen several prominent Democrats from Sen. KKK Byrd to now Senator “Osama” Obama (those are Sen. Ted Kennedy’s words NOT mine!) calling for a reduction in the rhetoric of “filibustering” Alito.
Sen. Barack Obama, the freshman Democrat from Illinois who is one of his party’s brightest stars, chided his party yesterday for its “over-reliance” on “procedural maneuvers” such as the fruitless filibuster threats against the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr.“We need to recognize — because Judge Alito will be confirmed — that if we’re going to oppose a nominee, that we’ve got to persuade the American people that, in fact, their values are at stake,” he said yesterday on ABC’s “This Week.” - Washington Time
Sen. Obama here has told us exactly what the strategy is. Not to change to become more mainstream, but to change their persuasion tactics.
Here’s what it basically boils down to:
1) Convince the American public that murdering babies is really their “values”
2) Convince the American public that we need more Ginsbergs on the court that will vote to allow your private land to be taken by another private person for their use against your will
3) Convince the American public that we have done such a WONDERFUL job with Medicare and Social Security which are both on the verge of collapse that we ALSO need to have government control of health insurance too!
4) Convince the American public that giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war is “patriotic”
5) Convince the American public that we should not be drilling for oil on our own land but should instead remain dependant on third world dictatorships for our energy needs
Yeah, THAT is a winning strategy!

Screw Hamas
JERUSALEM ? Hamas, which catapulted to power in last week’s Palestinian elections, might soon offer Israel a long-term cease fire but will not recognize Israel’s right to exist, the terror group’s chief Mahmoud al-Zahar told WorldNetDaily yesterday after earlier demanding the Jewish state change it’s official flag. - WorldNetDaily
Now if I were Israel this is how I would be handling this.
Muhammad: “Hamas will lead us to victory over the evil Jews!”
Israel: “Screw you!” Lauches cruise missile into Hamas headquarters
Muhammad: “We do not recognize the right of the state of Israel to exist!”
Israel: “Screw you!” Lauches cruise missile into Hamas headquarters
Muhammad: “We demand that Israel change it’s flag! The stripes on the flag are symbols of occupation. They signify Israel’s borders stretching from the River Euphrates to the River Nile.”
Israel: “Screw you!” Lauches cruise missile into Hamas headquarters
Muhammad: “Maybe we will entertain a truce with the evil Zionist pigs of Israel!”
Israel: “Maybe? Screw you!” Lauches cruise missile into Hamas headquarters
Get the picture? Every time Hamas or some representative thereof opens his mouth “demanding” something of Israel you just give them a not so gentle reminder as to what they are up against.
