More Proof That Murtha Is An Idiot.

Paul Nussbaum, Knight Ridder newspapers wrote:

Rep. John P. Murtha on Monday rejected the Bush administration’s characterization of the war in Iraq, calling it a fight against insurgents, not terrorists, and he said it was a battle the United States could not win militarily. December 13, 2005 [excerpt]

Hasn’t Mr. Murtha’s fifteen minutes of fame dwindled out yet? Must we continue to tolerate his stupidity?

Mr. Murtha, the reason why they are insurgents right now and not terrorists is because they are too busy fighting Marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen to be blowing up buildings here in the United States! You see, this war could have been done a long time ago our previous Commander in Chief didn’t use the military to cover up any stains - both figurative and literal.

Murtha, a Democrat from western Pennsylvania, reiterated his call for the withdrawal of U.S. troops, speaking in Philadelphia about an hour after President Bush spoke a few blocks away.

And yet you didn’t vote for a withdrawal of our U.S. troops when given the chance to do so. Are you now even more adamant about out our troops leaving a war half-done than you were then? Or, are you just talking to hear yourself talk knowing your words will not be put into action?

“The Iraqis are not against democracy,” he said. “They are against our occupation.”

Mr. Murtha, without our ‘occupation’ there would be no democracy in Iraq! I know this logic might be hard for you to comprehend, what with your agenda and all.

You see, there was this really mean guy named Saddam. You see, Saddam didn’t like democracy because he is what we call a ‘dictator’. I understand that the word dictator might sound like the same occupation a former President’s interns might have had, but a dictator is really a bad person.

Well, this particular dictator, Mr. Murtha, he would do all sorts of bad things like kill, rape and torture Iraqis. Oh, yes, he would also gas Kurds. Maybe someday he’ll reform and write childrens books and maybe he can even get nominated for a Nobel Peace prize.

To kind of shorten this up a little bit, Mr. Murtha, Saddam is no longer a threat to America or to Iraq. Thanks to brave men and women from American and other nations, Iraqis have that democracy. If they don’t want our occupation, we can put things back just the way we left it and let them work towards building a democracy.

But, you see, Mr. Murtha, your comments are not true. There are other reports, one even from Pennsylvania, that discredits what you said.

Congressman Bill Shuster stated:

When asked about the attitude of the Iraqi people toward the United States, Shuster said, “The folks we talked to were thankful and told us how appreciative their nation was to America. Regular Iraqis want peace and security.” - The Dispatch December 9, 2005.

Have you actually spoken with any Iraqis, Mr. Murtha, or are you too busy memorizing your lines for the television?

I would suggest to America that we just ignore you and someday you’ll go away. However, what you say is harmful because it gets back to the troops who actually want to win this war and come home, after the job is done.

What I suggest, Mr. Murhta, is that you either shut up or put your words into action. Your constant tripe about bringing our troops home and yet voting against your own words shows your stupidity, but unfortunately it also hurts our troops’ morale.
