Liberals Want SO Much To Be Right
J.J. Jackson* | December 18, 2005
Senator Carl Levin today on Meet the Press continued to show how childish a liberal can be when they aren’t being listened to. He accused Senator Joseph Lieberman a very level headed Democrat (at least on foreign policy issues) of taking a dangerous position because he wouldn’t tout the party line and call for the United States to “change course in Iraq”.
Let’s review shall we? Senator Lieberman came out and talked about how we were doing such a good job in Iraq. Perfect? No. I don’t think anyone ever expected “perfection” from this war except for the left wing trying to find something to complain about. It’s war. It’s not perfect.
What has happened in Iraq? Saddam Hussein is out of power. An interim government was elected. A Constitution was ratified. A permanent government under that Constitution has now been elected. TWICE Iraqis flocked to the polls in the face of terrorists trying to reclaim the country for a brutal regime. Twice they succeeded. Iraqi police and army divisions are being trained and most of Iraq is peaceful. All in all Iraq has been a success.
So why would Carl Levin want to change course from success? Is he really that petty that he really wants to get off the road of success to the road of failure?
Of course he is. Because every victory for America is a defeat for the Democratic Party and the liberals that now infest it.
