Speaker Seth Hammett and Majority Leader Ken Guin of the Alabama House of Representatives have introduced legislation that is expected to pass easily supporting a Bible Literacy course for the public schools. Oh, and in case you didn’t realize it from the title, they are both Democrats! (Source KRISTV.COM)
Expect the Constitutional idiots at Americans United for Separation of Church and State to fight this as another attempt by evil Chrisitians to “preach in public schools” as KRISTV put it.
Joseph Conn, a spokesman for the Washington-based Americans United for Separation of Church and State, says the Bible is already discussed when allusions to it come up in art, literature and other works.
The question is SO WHAT?
The problem with organizations like the ACLU and Americans United for Separation of Church and State is that they are like most other liberals. They only take the half of something that they feel supports their possiton (even if it clearly doesn’t), warp it, chant it from the roof tops and litigate you until you agree with them.
Just so everyone is CLEAR:
AMENDMENT I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
And the 14th Amendment clearly prohibits states from doing the same.
No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States
And you know what the great thing is? I don’t have to make this crap up either in order to prove MY point.
