Another Case To Support Torture
J.J. Jackson* | December 8, 2005 |
Well, since President Bush rightfully will not succumb to terrorists’ demands, maybe torture will work. What do you think Senator McCain? You admitted that torture worked on you?
Newsmax writes:
President Bush said Tuesday that the United States will work for the return of captive Americans in Iraq, but will not submit to terrorist tactics. “We, of course, don’t pay ransom for any hostages,” Bush said.
Bush spoke on the same day that Al-Jazeera broadcast a video claiming insurgents kidnapped a U.S. security consultant, and the militants displayed a blond, Western-looking man sitting with his hands tied behind his back. The video, which authenticity could not be immediately confirmed, also bore the logo of the Islamic Army in Iraq and showed a U.S. passport and an identification card.
“What we will do, of course, is use our intelligence-gathering to see if we can’t help locate them,” Bush said.
[emphasis added]
Since there is American lives at stake, why not use what Senator McCain already stated works to gather intelligence? I’m sure those whose lives you saved would appreciate it.
Oh, wait a minute. Bush is having to appease the media and liberals (one in the same).
But, he said, the United States does not torture and will do everything in its legal power to protect Americans while abiding by U.S. law.
Human rights organizations and legal groups, both in the U.S. and abroad, have accused the United States of allowing a practice known as “rendition to torture,” in which suspects are taken to countries such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia where harsh interrogation methods are used. The U.S. has denied that tactic, a denial Bush repeated Tuesday.
President Bush, do everything in your power to protect Americans. Law be damned! This is a war. One American life is worth more than millions of terrorists’ lives. If torture has to be done, so be it.
What nerve those human rights organizations have! While they accuse the United States of torturing terrorists, they say nothing about those who are actually torturing people. Instead of hiding behind their hypocrisy, perhaps they should just admit they hate America and are trying to do whatever they can to paint us in a different light.
This isn’t a “well they do it to us, so let’s do it back” kind of thing. This is a “we have American lives at stake” kind of thing. I would like to think that if it were my life on the line, my government would do whatever was necessary to save my life.
This is war and war is hell! Torture for the sake of torture is disgusting and appalling. It is also the tactics used by these same terrorists that seem to pull at the heart-strings of so many ‘patriotic’ liberals. Since they are not Americans, though, it is okay.
President Bush, if our men and women have to resort to torture, by all means let them. If you feel that you do not need to let the American public know, let that be your prerogative. If all wars were ran the way liberals would like, no war would ever be won.

On topic and intelligent comments are always welcome as are humorous observations. But liberal talking points with no basis in reality, off topic comments, spam and advertisements are not. Even though you may think you are an intelligent liberal, you probably are not.
