Alito Has To Show “Fairness” On Abortion Issue.

U.S. Supreme Court nominee Samuel A. Alito Jr. must show he would “fairly judge” abortion cases in light of two 1985 memos he wrote that said there isn’t a constitutional right to end a pregnancy, Senator Arlen Specter said. - Bloomberg.com
Mr. Specter, would you please show me where the Constitution does grant a right to end a pregnancy? I have tried to look for it, but I cannot seem to find it.
Now, while I know it is in the Declaration of Independence, the words, “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” come to mind. In case you have forgotten, allow me to put the Declaration’s exact words on this post for you:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. - U.S. Constitution.net
Look at that first unalienable right, Mr. Specter. What is it? Is it the unalienable right to destroy a living human being inside another’s body? Is it the unalienable right to murder your child? No! The first unalienable right is life.
In order to “fairly judge” the issue of abortion, one should realize that a human life is at stake. That human being has the right to live.

Mr. Specter, why do you only seem concerned with Mr. Alito’s position on abortion? Is it because he does not agree with yours?

Unfortunately, Mr. Specter can rest assured that Mr. Alito will not allow his personal feelings get in the way of his job as a Supreme Court Justice.

Why should Mr. Alito have to assure you of anything Mr. Specter? You obviously do not seem to mind what the personal beliefs are of those who support abortion.

It is all so clear now. So any Supreme Court Justices who is pro-abortion can “judge fairly,” because they will judge in his favor. Since they judge in his favor, of course they are doing so fairly.
Here is how the other justices feel about abortion:
Chief Justice John Roberts:
Wife is strongly pro-life.
Finds no support for abortion rights in Constitution.
Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided.
Prohibit family-planning programs from giving abortion info.
Ok for Operation Rescue to target abortion clinics.
Roe v. Wade is settled law.
Doctors who get federal fund may not mention abortion.
Limit funding for abortion clinics.
Justice William Rehnquist:
Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided & should be overturned.
Justice John Paul Stevens:
Favors abortion rights.
Uphold Roe v. Wade: woman’s right to choose.
Justice Sandra Day O’Connor:
Uphold Roe v. Wade: woman’s right to choose.
Justice Antonin Scalia:
Leave abortion to states; Court should get out of this area.
Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided & should be overturned.
Justice Anthony Kennedy:
Uphold Roe v. Wade: woman’s right to choose.
Justice David Souter:
Uphold Roe v. Wade: woman’s right to choose.
Justice Clarence Thomas:
Defining abortion position would prejudge abortion cases.
Personally views back-alley illegal abortions as torture.
Never discussed Roe v. Wade in law school nor since.

Overruling previous cases is a very serious matter.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg:
It?s a woman?s body and a woman?s choice.
On a side-note here. If Ruth Bader Ginsburg can show me a woman who was born with a child growing in her uterus, I will then agree that it is a woman’s body and thus her choice. Until then, I truly question Ms. Ginsburg’s intelligence and her capabilities as a Supreme Court Justice.
Lastly, Justice Stephen Breyer:
Roe v. Wade is ?settled law?.
Justice Breyer, prohibition was at one time settled. Is it still illegal to buy a beer in the United States? If so, I have been violating the law for some time now.
So as it stands, we have three justices who oppose abortion and six who do not. Sandra Day O’Connor does not really matter much in this equation if Mr. Alito is confirmed because he will take her place.
Therefore, it will then be five who support abortion and four who do not. But, Justice Stephen Breyer does not seem to take a very strong stance like the others. Might it be possible to persuade him to re-evaluate his opinion?
If that were the case, the tables would then be turned and Roe v. Wade would stand a chance of being overturned. Right now, though, the personal opinions of those who support abortion do not seem to bother Mr. Specter one bit.
But for those who oppose abortion, they have to show “fairness” in the issue. Is this “fairness” the same thing as “open-mindedness,” I wonder?
Are the aborted children treated with “fairness”, or are they just murdered? Where is the “fairness” in that?
