STOP PRICE GOUGING!

It’s time we stop letting people make obscene profits off of each gallon of gasoline we buy and rape our wallets!

A recent Washington Post article pointed out that Exxon posted $9.92 billion in profits this year. But I am not talking about stopping “Big Oil” from making money off of selling their product. What I am talking about is stopping the federal and state governments from reaping a windfall profit from regulating a product they neither help to create nor help make available!

Think about it. If the average profit of the oil company is 7.3 cents per gallon and the average profit of the government (state plus federal) is 24 cents per gallon then while companies like Exxon are posting $9.92 billion in profits (note that that is PROFITS which is AFTER expenses) then the government has reaped over 3 times that amount!

Why is no one talking about the over $32 BILLION that government is basically “gouging” from the people? If Exxon is bad for $9.92 billion then the government is that much worse!

Any liberals want to take a shot at this one?
