RSSIf You Can’t Win Yell A Lot And Threaten To SUE!

Joe Wilson and his attorney are apparently trying to take on WorldNetDaily for the sole reason that the internet publication had the audacity to try and find out whether or not Joe Wilson had himself outed his own wife as a CIA agent.
In an email from Wislon’s attorney WND is threatened.
“As you know, that assertion and the claim that Ambassador Wilson revealed to you or to anyone that his wife worked for the CIA is patently false, and subjects you and anyone publishing your statements to legal liability“
Well, I am now publishing these sentiments to so BRING IT ON Mr. Wolf!
Apparently Christopher Wolf still adheres to the liberal mantra of “If you can’t beat them, SUE THEM!”
The letter was in response to Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely claiming that Joe Wilson was rather open about his wife’s role in the government and IF true is yet another nail in left’s coffin as they continue to fail at creating a scandal to do in President Bush.
WND tried to get comments from Mr. Wolf who responded back via email:
“We do not wish to make a statement.”
Which seems rather odd since
“As you know, that assertion and the claim that Ambassador Wilson revealed to you or to anyone that his wife worked for the CIA is patently false, and subjects you and anyone publishing your statements to legal liability,”
seems like a “statement” to me!
To me it looks more like once Mr. Wolf’s intimidation tactics didn’t work he now wants to ponder his next move. And apparently Mr. Wolf is rather an incompetent lawyer as well attaching correspondence between himself and Joe Wilson in prior emails to WND and then demanding that they not cite the words and accusations contained there in!
“The earlier version appended additional e-mails that were not intended for you and I would ask you to discard them, please,”
and
“Specifically, you do not have permission to re-produce or quote from those e-mails sent to you in error. The authors of those e-mails retain all rights in those communications, including copyright and rights under applicable privilege law. Please be advised that your use of those e-mails in any way will compound your liability for the publication of the libelous statements which prompted my letter.”
Too late. Maybe you should think twice before hitting the send button and MAYBE proof read a little?
The emails in question contained ranting by Wilson such as
“This is slanderous,” Wilson wrote. “I never appeared on tv before at least July 2002 and only saw him maybe twice in the green room at FOX. Vallely is a retired general and this is a bald faced lie. Can we sue? This is not he said/he said, since I never laid eyes on him till several months after he alleges I spoke to him about my wife.”
Vallely however is standing by his story.
“I think he’s panicked that somebody is going to take him on,” said Vallely tonight. “He can make statements, and yet he’s not brought in under oath.”

Vallely charges in WND and are reprinted here for commentary purposes. If you want to come after me Mr. Wolf for reporting the news then by all means GO FOR IT! If it was in fact Joe Wilson himself that outed his wife then he himself should be found guilty in a court of law.
