Down In Flames!

Left Wing Liberals in Ohio tried to pass four initiatives to help them wrest control of the state from Republicans which considering the way the Republicans have run that state at times might not have been a bad idea. Taking control away from them I mean but NOT giving it to “Progressive” (read socialist/communist/Marxist) cry babies who still think that the state was stolen from them.

The reforms were backed almost solely by those on the left with maybe a few “moderates” who don’t really stand for anything chiming in as well. Groups like:

Warren County Democratic Party
Wayne County Network for Progressive Democracy
Planned Parenthood Affiliates of Ohio
Portage County Democratic Coalition
Progressive Democrats of America
Progressive Democrats of Butler County
Progressive Democrats of Cincinnati
Pickaway County Democrats- Citizens in Action
and more. The entire list of “endorsements” can be read at their website (Reform Ohio Now) and reads as a veritable who’s who of disgruntled Progressive Democrats and labor unions.

And according to the election night summary on the Ohio Secretary of State’s Website (you might notice that J. Kenneth Blackwell is an American of a darker persuasion which also really ticks off the left) measures 2 through 5 failed miserably!

Issue 2: Makes it easier to vote by allowing all Ohioans to vote by mail** Managed only 36% in favor
Issue 3: Helps stop the influence of big money in elections by greatly reducing campaign contributions.** Managed only 33% in favor
Issue 4: Stops the politicians from drawing their own legislative districts and puts an Independent Commission in charge of this process** Managed only 30% in favor
Issue 5: Places a bi-partisan Board of Supervisors in charge of Ohio’s elections, instead of a partisan official who backs candidates and takes sides in elections** Managed only 30% in favor

I’m sure that there will be continued screaming about voter fraud on this as well. After all, they are SO certain that they lost Ohio in 2004 solely based on fraud because they know the people really wanted them in power so this must just be more of the same in their minds.

But in reality it just goes to show how far out of touch they REALLY are and how the only way they can even come close is to vilify their enemies without any proof or substantiation. When they don’t have that villain - things just fall apart.
