Clinton Calls His Impeachment An “egregious abuse of the Constitution”
J.J. Jackson* | November 13, 2005
That’s right, Bill Clinton can’t get over that he was caught committing a crime.
Douglas Brinkley has said that Clinton would be considered a great President if not for his impeachment. To which Clinton Responded
“I completely disagree with that,” Clinton said in his speech at Hofstra University. “You can agree with that statement, but only if you think impeachment was justified. Otherwise, it was an egregious abuse of the Constitution and law and history of our country.” - FOX News
Funny thing though. Clinton’s own words after the impeachment were more somber and admitting that what was done was completely Constitutional.
Now that the Senate has fulfilled its constitutional responsibility bringing this process to a conclusion, I want to say again to the American people how profoundly sorry I am for what I said and did to trigger these events and the great burden they have imposed on the Congress and on the American people.I also am humbled and very grateful for the support and the prayers I have received from millions of Americans over this past year.
Now I ask all Americans, and I hope all Americans here in Washington and throughout our land, will rededicate ourselves to the work of serving our nation and building our future together. This can be and this must be a time of reconciliation and renewal for America.
Thank you very much. - PBS Online
So the Clinton historical rewrite of history continues! Let’s remember what Bill Clinton was impeached for shall we?
Paula Jones (one of many women to claim Clinton raped them) had a lawsuit in court against Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton, in order to hide from the claims that he often had sexual relations with women out of wedlock suborned perjury by having Monica Lewinsky sign a false affidavit claiming the two were not romantically involved. The blue dress popped up. The stain was found. And Bill Clinton was caught in a lie.
It was NOT a lie just about sex as liberals want everyone to believe. It was a lie that was designed to prohibit Paula Jones from getting her day in court (something guaranteed under the Constitution to citizens) and having her case heard. The “sex” issue was a secondary issue to the case.
The reason Bill Clinton was impeached was NOT because he had sex with Monica Lewinsky. It was because he lied about it under oath and coerced Monica to do the same in order to deny a United States Citizen her constitutional rights.
So please! Stop with the ignorance Bill. There is NO higher crime more worthy of punishment than the Chief Law Enforcement office of these United States prohibiting a citizen from having his/her day in court.
