Another Confusing And Skewed Poll

Headline: Poll: Most Americans Call Bush Dishonest (source)
The AP-Ipsos poll and it’s results can be found here.
Again however we see Ipsos and AP are polling in majority Democrat leaning areas (51% to 40%).
Scrolling down to page 10 shows us the “dishonest” result. Well that’s not exactly what the question said. The question was if Bush was “honest”. Now it IS true that one could draw the inference that if someone is not “honest” they are “dishonest”. But let’s be fair (liberals like that) and make the headline read correctly ok?
The term “dishonest” was not used for one reason and that is because people would be reluctant to come out and say “dishonest”. But asking about “honest” is a way around that. It’s an old pollster trick - ask about a positive to infer a negative rather than just ask about the negative.
But even with the 11% skew toward the Dems the AP and Ipsos could STILL only get 57% to say President Bush was not “honest”. However these numbers do not jive with the previous question which was is President Bush “ethical” (47% yes to 51% no).
Shouldn’t “ethical” and “honesty” be pretty much inclusive? The answer is yes. So why the disconnect? Also the poll asked about his likability which 52% said he was and only 47% said he was not.
Huh? So people “like” President Bush even though he is not “honest”?
This is getting more and more confusing. Are the American people this screwed up?
These questions should all be inclusive! They should all have results right in line with each other but they do not.
Show of hands who “likes” someone that they don’t think is “ethical” and “honest”?
Apparently Democrats since they are the over weighted population in this survey. And after all they DID vote for Bill Clinton twice. It explains a lot.
I wonder if the AP and Ipsos is polling in Lincoln Chaffee’s back yard finding the most liberal “Republicans” they can to take these polls.
