And Some Thought I Was Joking…
J.J. Jackson* | October 2, 2005 |
When I wrote Religious Permits and Licenses talking about how some Americans tolerate the licensing of their second amendment rights and wondered aloud how those same people would think about religious permits, the same people that still do not understand how government works wrote in saying how silly the notion of “religious licenses” were.
But alas, the notion was not silly then and it is less silly now. The state of Kentucky is now moving to close a Christian Ministry because it does not have a permit to operate as a “mental health supportive living facility”.
I guess that whole concept of “freedom of religion” is lost on some people. Well, I guess this was the next step. After all the state already has taken control of the education system which was at one time seen as a function of the churches.
So I ask again, “When they come for you who will defend you?”

On topic and intelligent comments are always welcome as are humorous observations. But liberal talking points with no basis in reality, off topic comments, spam and advertisements are not. Even though you may think you are an intelligent liberal, you probably are not. Keep this in mind as trolling is prohibited and will result in your comments not being approved and comments informing us how much we are a bunch of idiots because you say we are or espousing hate towards the truth are often moved directly to the official “I Hate You/You’re An Idiot” thread. Save us all the time and post there directly if you have a comment that would meet those criteria. Commenters reserve the right to mock claims about how liberal ideas, such as higher taxes, actually work and how conservative and right wingers, are NAZIs, racists, sexists, etc. and will do so with great regularity.
