Oh To Be Ignorant AND A Socialist
J.J. Jackson* | September 12, 2005 |
Senator Mary Landrieu probably cannot even tell you what part of the Constitution grants which powers to the federal government. How can I boldly say this? Well let’s look at some of her ignorant comments shall we?
Back on September 8th NewsMax reported that Landrieu went on a tirade saying
“If one person criticizes [Louisiana officials], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally”
Needless to say I am still waiting for her to show her face around me and try THAT!
This quote shows that Landrieu already has her mind made up as to where the blame resides - President Bush. Well, now she is speaking up again.
“While the president is saying that he wants to work together as a team, I think the White House operatives have a full court press on to blame state and local officials whether they’re Republicans or Democrats. It’s very unfortunate” - SFGate.com
She then continued to babble on according to the Philadelphia Daily News
She said Washington was obliged to support local and state officials, “particularly in times of tragedy and stress, not to pile on them, not to make their suffering worse.”
Ok Mary, let’s go over this one more time shall we? Article I, Section 8 - ever hear of it? How about Article 2, Sections 2 and 3? No? Gee, and you call yourself a “Senator”.
I’ll tell you what Mary, let me know when you actually go through there and find the authority for the federal government to help you out with disaster relief ok?
What Senator Landrieu is calling for is Big Daddy Government to come to the rescue of a state that was not ill prepared for disaster, but rather ill prepared to react in the way they themselves had dictated they should. What the Senator is trying to do is justify 100’s of school busses which could have been used for evacuation sitting idle because of the government’s inability to get people to work on a sunny day much less in a hurricane. Huh? Yes, she tried that excuse too
“I am not going to level criticism at local and state officials. Mayor Nagin and most mayors in this country have a hard time getting their people to work on a sunny day, less alone getting them out of the city in front of a hurricane, and it?s because this administration and administrations before them do not understand the difficulties that mayors?face. In other words, this administration does not believe in mass transit.? - TCV
Dear God woman get a grip! You’re losing it!
It WAS the city’s responsibility to enact their OWN evacuation plan. It WAS the state’s responsibility to help them out. And it WAS the responsibility of the people themselves to take a little initiative and get the Hell out if they could. Obviously the sick could not but if you had two good legs you had no excuse except your own “The Nanny State will solve this problem” attitude.

On topic and intelligent comments are always welcome as are humorous observations. But liberal talking points with no basis in reality, off topic comments, spam and advertisements are not. Even though you may think you are an intelligent liberal, you probably are not.
