Lynndie England’s “It Wan’t My Fault” Excuse

FORT HOOD, Texas — Army Pfc. Lynndie England posed in now notorious abuse photographs inside Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison because she loved and trusted the scandal ringleader, her attorney said at the start of her court-martial yesterday.

Pfc. England, 22, who was pictured holding an Iraqi prisoner by a leash, was lured into posing for the photographs by Charles Graner, the father of her baby, said military lawyer Capt. Jonathan Crisp.

“What mattered to her was her relationship to Cpl. Graner,” Capt. Crisp said.

“She thinks: ‘I love him, he loves me, he’s not going to do something to hurt me,’ ” he said in opening arguments. - Washington Times

I know that what happened at Abu Ghraib was over blown by the “Get Bush” crowd. But what we have here is a soldier seriously trying to make the claim that it was someone else’s fault she posed the pictures the “Get Bush” crowd salivated over.

Gee, talk about setting back the concept of women in the military 50 years! Talk about exposing how standards have been lowered just to get women into the military at the moaning of the hags from NOW. This is what the result is? Dear God help us all.

I expect better from a soldier Lynndie. I REALLY do.
