Congress To Probe 9/11 Fraud

Earlier this month I posted about Georgia businesses robbing the federal government and Pennsylvania businesses doing the same by taking money ear marked for those hurt by the September 11th attacks. Well, now Congress is stepping in to invesigate the 9/11 fraud.

But leave it to John Kerry to open his mouth and continue to remove all doubt:

Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, the committee’s top Democrat, joined in the call for an investigation.

“This was a deliberate attempt to cover up White House budget gimmicks that left the SBA’s largest loan program underfunded and on the brink of shutting down,” Kerry said. “The administration asked SBA employees to bend the rules and steer regular loans through the program aimed at helping businesses impacted by 9/11.”

Problem with this assertion being that it is Congress that ear marks money, not the President and the Small Business Administration is granted authority by Congress (Small Business Act of July 30, 1953), not the President. In fact Hector V. Barreto was unanimously confirmed in 2001 to head this administration by - you guessed it - the U.S. Senate.

Maybe John Kerry can say he voted for Mr. Barreto before he voted against him …
