Florida State Preparing To Fight Back?

With the NCAA succumbing to political correctness and banning teams from post season play that display indian mascots that are deemed by pointed headed intellectuals as “hostile and offensive,” is it possible that at least one school is preparing to fight back? In an article by the AP Brent Kallestad reports that Florida State, the Seminoles, may be getting their ducks in a row to do just that!

“…attorney Barry Richard, who successfully led the legal challenge on behalf of Republican George W. Bush in the 2000 presidential recount in Florida, has agreed to represent the school in its case against the NCAA, Florida State President T.K. Wetherell said Wednesday.”

My my my won’t that be interesting?

Listen folks, people don’t name their schools and their mascots after something that they are not proud of. No one names their schools the “Non-fighting Pink Fluffy Bunnies of Love”. Although it appears that if the NCAA has their way we may soon see names like this.

No. They pick a mascot that is something they are PROUD of and is usually FIERCE!

So this whole exercise in intellectual dishonesty by pointy headed academics who don’t do any real work is really moot. Yes, the mascots are “hostile”. That is the FREAKING POINT! That is why mascots are often called the Fighting Whatevers!

But offensive? Offensive to whom? Perhaps progressives who would cry if their fingernails weren’t perfectly manicured I suppose.

I would love to see the NCAA keep the Florida State Seminoles out of post season play because they refuse to change their mascot or hide it from view. Go ahead NCAA I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU!
