Hmm. If Eleanor doesn’t like the government compensating our soldiers for their commitment then I wonder what she proposes. The only other option I can think of is one of the following:
1) No army at all
2) Reinstate the draft

Senator Kennedy Stumps For Unconstitutional Spending
I know, it’s not really news right? According to FOX News Chappaquiddick Fats said:
“We need our Republican colleagues to join us in giving education the high priority that it deserves at the national level,” said Kennedy, the senior Democrat on the Senate committee that oversees education.
Once again I issue the challenge to ANY liberal, lefty socialist in the mold of Senator Kennedy to point me to the section of Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to spend one solitary penny on “education”.
In case you are too lazy to look it up I will even print it here for you:

Because to tell you the truth, Senator Kennedy’s excuse doesn’t quite cut it:

Yawn. Sorry Teddy, but you cannot start couching your claims in “national security” because you can use that blanket excuse for anything which is NOT what this section of the Constitution was meant to do.

Didn’t Hear Much From the Anti War Left on Recruitment in July
The reason? “The Army recruited the most new members, more than 8,000, 9 percent above its July goal. The Marines recruited more than 3,600 members, 103 percent of their goal; and the Air Force, almost 2,100, 101 percent of its goal. The Navy added more than 4,700 new sailors to its ranks, just 41 short of its July goal.” (Department of Defense)
Now, let’s also remember some thing else. These are just “goals”. These are not “We must hit these levels or we have no military” levels. Some bean counter comes up with these numbers and we all know that bean counters and bosses often set goals well above actually attainable levels.
If the army recruits 80,000 new soldiers a year that is over half of the current number of soldiers we have in Iraq. And we haven’t even counted the Marines, Navy and Air Force with those numbers. And that shows a problem of some sort? Wow, because it seems to me that it shows that we can do a pretty darn good job of maintaining our armed forces AND the military presence in Iraq as well.
So before you fall for the left wing psychobabble about how we can’t recruit enough people to fight “Bush’s War” look at the actual numbers and not the interpretation of those numbers.
Cindy Sheehan - COWARD!
Cindy Sheehan demands a lot of things, but when it comes to requests from others (especially those that oppose her) she has a habit of not granting their requests.
As the “You Don’t Speak For Me Cindy” Tour rolled into Crawford containing family of soldiers currently deployed and that have died in the War on Terror Cindy refused to meet with the group’s leader indicating “she would only meet with those who had lost a family member in the war.” (WorldNetDaily)
Uh but Cindy isn’t it YOU that are demanding a meeting with President Bush? He hasn’t lost a family member in the war has he?
No. What this really is is just another lame attempt by Cindy Sheehan to avoid confrontation with someone that opposes her. The crowd contained many that had lost loved ones in the War on Terror but yet Cindy where were you? Possibly she is too busy sipping the Kool-Aid and claiming to channel the thoughts of her dead son in an attempt to justify her own lunacy.

Some of those surveyed said their relationships with troops helped them learn more about what?s going on in Iraq beyond the violence. Others said their opinions of the war were shaped by a sense of loyalty to those in harm?s way….
Further down “Those who know someone serving in Iraq were more likely to approve of the Bush administration?s conduct of the war - 44 percent, compared with 37 percent overall.”
So, what does this tell us about the “anti-war” crowd? Yep … you got that right … they DON’T HAVE A CLUE!
And once again we see that AP-Ipsos has weighted this poll as well. The top line results tell the story:

NARAL Doesn’t Learn From Mistakes
When I wrote NARAL Thinks Americans Are Too Stupid … about how this pathetic pro-abortion/murder group thought that we Americans were literally too idiotic to understand their last anti-John Roberts ad I really thought that NARAL would keep their collective mouths shut for a while. Especially after how Factcheck.org (who is not always right by the way) destroyed their accusations worse than the the Japanese destroyed the Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor.
But, it appears that as usual I give liberals far too much credit because NARAL is back and making the same arguments AGAIN! What does the NEW and IMPROVED NARAL ad claim? According to the Washington Times it “points out that he co-wrote a government memo saying the landmark Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion was wrongly decided.”
And THIS is NARAL’s BIG plan? Dear God they are dumber than I thought!

August 26, 2005I’m very proud to be a soldier of the U.S. Army because of the war on terror and our missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. I’m not alone either. I’m surrounded by soldiers who are re-enlisting and volunteering to go to units that are deploying. In fact, despite all the negative news and protests, I see everyday that our military is actually doing very well.
This is quite obvious, except for the fact that most of the media seems asphyxiated with defeatism. The message from most journalists would lead you to believe that we soldiers are getting out, that no one is joining anew and that we want to stop fighting. This simply isn’t true.
Yes, recruitment is lower, but the caliber of those who are signing up and the rates of re-enlistment are both extremely high. All 10 of our major combat divisions are ahead of expectations for retention of soldiers. In my unit, there are soldiers who specifically went active duty from the reserves because they want to go to Iraq or Afghanistan.
Before September 11, a lot of soldiers were happy to just enjoy the benefits. Since that day, those soldiers have left. That is fine and not the disaster that defeatist reports are making it seem. Such soldiers were never the types to want to go on long deployments and face combat. Yes, they were heroes for signing up and being in a job that could go that direction, but they had other priorities that made their service contingent on enjoying the benefits rather than serving in war.
