Republican Gut Check Time

Serious people know that the Republican Party is, for the most part, made up of politicians that are at best only slightly to the right of ?moderate?. But many conservatives call the party home and vote for these folks year in and year out hoping and praying to get thrown a bone every now and again in between votes to expand socialism in America.

I guess we call it home because we are glutting for punishment. Many has been the time that I myself have looked at other options including the Libertarian and Constitution parties only to be disappointed at seeing how no other party is as a whole any better. And the Republicans keep conservatives for this reason. And they keep winning elections because of us. And us conservatives and other right wingers that call the party home continually are disappointed at the moderation of the party.

It?s called ?insanity? in medical fields. Doing the same thing time and again and expecting a different result is often considered a mental disease. Voting for Republicans and expecting anything more than a ?moderate? result is something that we all could be considered insane for doing.

It is gut check time, again, for the Republican Party. Tom DeLay is under assault being confronted with ?serious charges? but nothing actionable and tangible. Extreme left wing Democrats are shutting down the Senate and failing to perform their Constitutional duty of advise and consent on judicial nominees. American Marxists are out there defending Social Security and stealing from one group to give to another. And on and on and on. It never seems to end because there is no serious opposition to such things from the Republicans that we elect to government.

And as usual, Republicans begin to wilt. Republicans are failing to meet fire with fire on Social Security. Republicans are dragging their feet for now going on 4 years concerning making the Senate uphold it?s Constitutionally assigned role on judges. Republicans are also not very vocal in their defense of the character assassination of DeLay even though the story about his ?corruption? is now being rehashed for the second time after failing to make it stick the first time.

Conservatives are left shaking their heads saying to themselves ?Why do we support this party again?? as the Republicans play to the crowd, waffle and hem and haw to the middle instead of actually acting. The Democrats are in complete obstruction mode. They are against private accounts and fixing our socialist society, they are against any judge they see as a threat (even if they are a black woman or Hispanic man) or might be even remotely pro-life, and they are smearing Tom DeLay with accusations while Hillary Clinton?s ?partners? are actually up on federal charges for helping her win election.

And the Republicans are having problems with this? Something is desperately wrong here. And I hate to say it, but it is we ?conservatives? because we keep voting for these politicians in the Republican party with nothing to show for it except expanding government, more socialism and a devaluing of our individual liberties. If Republicans fail to make progress then it is soon going to be gut check time for conservative voters as well.

Wake up Republicans. Or you will be a minority party once again. And we will be stuck with the left wing Marxism of the modern Democratic Party ruling our lives. We will be stuck with it because conservatives will stop voting for Republicans and there will not be enough votes to overcome the political opposition that seeks to drag America into the abyss of failed political and economic ideas.

On topic and intelligent comments are always welcome as are humorous observations. But liberal talking points with no basis in reality, off topic comments, spam and advertisements are not. Even though you may think you are an intelligent liberal, you probably are not. Keep this in mind as trolling is prohibited and will result in your comments not being approved and comments informing us how much we are a bunch of idiots because you say we are or espousing hate towards the truth are often moved directly to the official “I Hate You/You’re An Idiot” thread. Save us all the time and post there directly if you have a comment that would meet those criteria. Commenters reserve the right to mock claims about how liberal ideas, such as higher taxes, actually work and how conservative and right wingers, are NAZIs, racists, sexists, etc. and will do so with great regularity.
