Democrats Reject Offer To Investigate DeLay
J.J. Jackson* | April 23, 2005
This really is not that much a surprise to anyone with half a functional brain. After all the complaints about Delay are not rooted in any real basis in fact (at least not that that Democrats have put forward yet) but rather a diversionary tactic to keep prying eyes off of their own.
Bet most of you didn?t know that uber liberal, Jim McDermott has been found guilty in a court of law did you? The Washington Times reports that McDermott was declared, by U.S. District court to have acted with ?willful and knowing misconduct? that ?rises to the level of malice? with regards to a 1997 telephone conversation that he illegally taped. But of course the mainstream media is far too interested in the case of Tom DeLay. A case, I might add, that includes not indictments and no legal rulings against DeLay.
The deal that Democrats rejected would have Republicans agree to investigate DeLay in exchange for passage of new committee rules. But they snubbed their noses at the offer.
That?s odd. I thought the Liberals wanted to investigate DeLay? And isn?t it these same Liberals that always talk about how we should compromise with them? Well, here is the compromise Libs. So why the refusal to move forward?
Oh, that?s right ? silly me ? they don?t mean that they should compromise with the Republicans but only that Republicans should compromise with them so they can get what they want slowly and surely. And the truth is they don?t want an investigation of DeLay because they know that the investigation will likely turn up nothing. If they thought, really thought, that they had DeLay by the balls they would be clamoring for this investigation to get it all out there.
But every day we learn more and more about Democrats that take trips on the dimes of lobbying groups against House rules. Every day we learn of left wingers elected to government that have been found guilty in a court of law and that would be removed from office for an impeachable offense if they really want to convene an ethics investigation.
But no, Tom DeLay (who has many times said that he welcomes an investigation) draws their attention.
Will the liberal Democratic Party ever get it?s own house in order? The answer is no because they are more interested in political power than serving the people and infested with Marxists that will defend to the death their own corruption . It?s time to convene a panel to draw up the articles of impeachment against Jim McDermott, the same scumbag that trashed the United States on Iraqi soil and convict the man of high crimes and misdemeanors. It?s time to do this to all such members of Congress and remove these unAmericans from office.
