Democrats Reject Offer To Investigate DeLay
This really is not that much a surprise to anyone with half a functional brain. After all the complaints about Delay are not rooted in any real basis in fact (at least not that that Democrats have put forward yet) but rather a diversionary tactic to keep prying eyes off of their own.
Bet most of you didn?t know that uber liberal, Jim McDermott has been found guilty in a court of law did you? The Washington Times reports that McDermott was declared, by U.S. District court to have acted with ?willful and knowing misconduct? that ?rises to the level of malice? with regards to a 1997 telephone conversation that he illegally taped. But of course the mainstream media is far too interested in the case of Tom DeLay. A case, I might add, that includes not indictments and no legal rulings against DeLay.
The deal that Democrats rejected would have Republicans agree to investigate DeLay in exchange for passage of new committee rules. But they snubbed their noses at the offer.
That?s odd. I thought the Liberals wanted to investigate DeLay? And isn?t it these same Liberals that always talk about how we should compromise with them? Well, here is the compromise Libs. So why the refusal to move forward?
Oh, that?s right ? silly me ? they don?t mean that they should compromise with the Republicans but only that Republicans should compromise with them so they can get what they want slowly and surely. And the truth is they don?t want an investigation of DeLay because they know that the investigation will likely turn up nothing. If they thought, really thought, that they had DeLay by the balls they would be clamoring for this investigation to get it all out there.
But every day we learn more and more about Democrats that take trips on the dimes of lobbying groups against House rules. Every day we learn of left wingers elected to government that have been found guilty in a court of law and that would be removed from office for an impeachable offense if they really want to convene an ethics investigation.
But no, Tom DeLay (who has many times said that he welcomes an investigation) draws their attention.
Will the liberal Democratic Party ever get it?s own house in order? The answer is no because they are more interested in political power than serving the people and infested with Marxists that will defend to the death their own corruption . It?s time to convene a panel to draw up the articles of impeachment against Jim McDermott, the same scumbag that trashed the United States on Iraqi soil and convict the man of high crimes and misdemeanors. It?s time to do this to all such members of Congress and remove these unAmericans from office.
Dissent About Oil-For-Food Continues
Robert Parton and Miranda Duncan are reported to have ?resigned in protest? from the panel that is charged with probing the United Nations Oil-for-Food Program according tot the Washington Times. However an anonymous spokeswoman for Mr. Volcker?s committee claimed that the resignations came ?after the investigators had completed the work they signed up to do.?
However Mr. Parton commented to the Associated Press that he made different conclusions from the official Volcker Report and further that the report was too soft on Kofi Annan.
So, the dissent about the extent to which Kofi and his son Kojo were involved with enabling Saddam Hussien and the brutal regime in Iraq while proclaiming success. But in reality we now have two of the top investigators involved with this probe dissenting and leaving under questionable circumstances. Such a tangled web that has been woven over the pursuit of global power.
I think that it is time the United Nations be placed in the trash. I think that it is time that we take a different approach to this whole getting nations together to talk about their differences thing. Perhaps it is time to start the United DEMOCRATIC Nations instead. To be a member you have to be a government run by a legitimate representative body. I don?t mean banana republics that rig elections like Iraq did under Saddam but truly democratic societies. And if you?re not you can watch from the sidelines as the rest of us make progress towards liberty and individual freedom.
If you are a dictatorship you are not allowed in. That means no more countries like Syria on the Human Rights Commission complaining about how the United States treats terrorists and ignoring the death of thousands at the hands of their fellow travelers. It think that this will be a good start. But then again, anything that dismantles the bureaucratic insanity of the current United Nations would be a good start.
However if you really think that ?blue helmets? are going to save the world, you probably enjoy the status quo.
More From The Society Of Individual Morality
Anyone remember Hasan Akbar? What if I say Sergeant Hasan Akbar? No? What if I I mention the soldier that murdered two and injured more than 10 other fellow soldiers at the start of the Iraq War?
Perhaps you remember it vaguely?
Well, his court-marshal is wrapping up with closing arguments today. And the defense is trying to justify the attack by relying on accusations that other soldiers in his platoon were basically mean to him because he was a black Muslim. His father said that the platoon consisted of ?individuals tattooed with NAZI, KKK and Confederate Flag Symbols.? He even said that they would ?mock? his son.
Aww ? where?s the world?s smallest violin because I need to play it.
First of all, I have seen no facts that support the ?NAZI? and ?KKK? allegations. Confederate Flags? Maybe. Lots of people have tattoos of that. Second of all, someone picking on you and having any of these symbols alone is not enough to justify killing someone. That is unless you think that morality is defined by the individual person.
Akbar?s lawyers do not dispute, according to Estes Thompson of the Associated Press, that he did the deed. Oh no, they can?t because Mr. Akbar admitted to it. They are however claiming that he was completely in capable of premeditating such an act and that he should be spared the death penalty.
Too bad that contradicts Hasan?s own writings prior to being deployed. ?I am not going to do anything about it as long as I stay here. But as soon as I am in Iraq, I am going to try and kill as many of them as possible.? Those are his words. And it seems pretty clear.
So how can any competent lawyer even try to argue that Hasan could not have premeditated the act? I think that the answer is that his lawyers are not all that competent. Because the facts are clear. Maybe his lawyers should be required to share his fate. Maybe then we?ll get some honesty from these jerks with law degrees.
Liberals Really Are Out In Left Field
Mr. Humphrey who is the editor of the Portland Mercury has lost it. Why did he lose it? The answer is simply because he was confronted with a differing point of view. And as we all know liberals (aka socialists, communists, etc) blow a fuse at even the thought of someone disagreeing with their self declared omnipotence.
His paper was approached by Life Decisions International and their President Douglas R. Scott as part of a campaign to boycott corporations that fund Planned Parenthood which is an abortion provider. The letter of response is pretty much a typical left wing response not unlike the ramblings that I myself receive on a daily basis from confused socialists and communists that have neither the candle power to address an issue without hurling nothing but personal insults or a desire to address the points at hand. Contrast that to my style where I respond with legitimate labels (liberals call them insults) when necessary WHILE addressing the points at hand.
The following are quotes from Mr. Humphrey?s inane response:
?now that the Portland Mercury is featured on the Boycott List, we can shove it in the face of all those other liberal organizations, and say, ?You think you love abortion? Well?look at THIS! We reaaaaaaaalllly love abortion!?
?But abortion is not the only reason we love Planned Parenthood?Their services were especially helpful when your wife gave me chlamydia or that time I impregnated your daughter.?
?Wait ? maybe that was some other Christian bigot?s wife and daughter. Regardless those gals love to party!?
?Planned Parenthood is not just for promiscuous daughters and wives of hypocritical honky ant-choice crackers?
Thank you Mr. Humphrey for that tirade. And you call yourself a professional? I mean really, is that what you consider a thoughtful response?
You can read the entire letter on WorldNetDaily if you would like to see that I am not taking any of those quotes out of context as well. In all I would say a good three quarters of the letter was spent attacking and hurling personal insults and the remaining quarter was spent on tired old talking points about a women?s right to chose to murder a child for their own convenience.
But this is typical of the left. They say that they aren?t for abortion yet they have members out there running around saying how much they are for abortion. They complain about ?right wingers? being full of hate and attacking them and then turn out a tirade like the one above that attacks the daughter and wife of a man that has differing opinions than they do. My God they have no shame. But then again, many of them don?t have God either so that might explain that.
Yes, even I get satirical and brash at times. I?ll admit that to all the liberals that come here and might desire to point their fingers at me and say that I and other conservatives do the same thing. But can you honestly say that you have ever heard me attack the family of someone that disagreed with me and call their daughter a whore or their wife a disease infested slut?
At least when I call left wingers ?idiots?, ?fools? and ?Marxists? I have rants like this to back me up and can cite the actual definitions from the dictionary and make a case for the use of those names. But I guess with the appointment of Howard ?The Scream? Dean to head the DNC and how he ?hates? Republicans (and dare I think safe to say all Conservatives and Libertarians) this is the best we can expect from the left for quite some time.
And to the Marxists out there that wouldn?t know a NAZI (aka themselves) from a doorknob I say keep it up! I make a good amount of money from your insanity. You are helping to fund a very nice life for my family every time you open your pie hole. Gotta love Capitalism!
Republican Gut Check Time
Serious people know that the Republican Party is, for the most part, made up of politicians that are at best only slightly to the right of ?moderate?. But many conservatives call the party home and vote for these folks year in and year out hoping and praying to get thrown a bone every now and again in between votes to expand socialism in America.
I guess we call it home because we are glutting for punishment. Many has been the time that I myself have looked at other options including the Libertarian and Constitution parties only to be disappointed at seeing how no other party is as a whole any better. And the Republicans keep conservatives for this reason. And they keep winning elections because of us. And us conservatives and other right wingers that call the party home continually are disappointed at the moderation of the party.
It?s called ?insanity? in medical fields. Doing the same thing time and again and expecting a different result is often considered a mental disease. Voting for Republicans and expecting anything more than a ?moderate? result is something that we all could be considered insane for doing.
It is gut check time, again, for the Republican Party. Tom DeLay is under assault being confronted with ?serious charges? but nothing actionable and tangible. Extreme left wing Democrats are shutting down the Senate and failing to perform their Constitutional duty of advise and consent on judicial nominees. American Marxists are out there defending Social Security and stealing from one group to give to another. And on and on and on. It never seems to end because there is no serious opposition to such things from the Republicans that we elect to government.
And as usual, Republicans begin to wilt. Republicans are failing to meet fire with fire on Social Security. Republicans are dragging their feet for now going on 4 years concerning making the Senate uphold it?s Constitutionally assigned role on judges. Republicans are also not very vocal in their defense of the character assassination of DeLay even though the story about his ?corruption? is now being rehashed for the second time after failing to make it stick the first time.
Conservatives are left shaking their heads saying to themselves ?Why do we support this party again?? as the Republicans play to the crowd, waffle and hem and haw to the middle instead of actually acting. The Democrats are in complete obstruction mode. They are against private accounts and fixing our socialist society, they are against any judge they see as a threat (even if they are a black woman or Hispanic man) or might be even remotely pro-life, and they are smearing Tom DeLay with accusations while Hillary Clinton?s ?partners? are actually up on federal charges for helping her win election.
And the Republicans are having problems with this? Something is desperately wrong here. And I hate to say it, but it is we ?conservatives? because we keep voting for these politicians in the Republican party with nothing to show for it except expanding government, more socialism and a devaluing of our individual liberties. If Republicans fail to make progress then it is soon going to be gut check time for conservative voters as well.
Wake up Republicans. Or you will be a minority party once again. And we will be stuck with the left wing Marxism of the modern Democratic Party ruling our lives. We will be stuck with it because conservatives will stop voting for Republicans and there will not be enough votes to overcome the political opposition that seeks to drag America into the abyss of failed political and economic ideas.
Another Thought On The Minutemen
With attempted border crossing reportedly down markedly in Arizona and with all the would be criminals either trapped in Mexico or forced to find another illegal route into the United States I wonder how the Mexican economy is fairing. Admittedly Mexico?s economy is anemic at best already but what effect are these thousands of criminals who can?t cross the border and ship back American greenbacks having? These criminals have to eat after all.
It can?t be good. But it is only a small dent our traditional subsidizing of Mexico?s economy. There are still millions of Mexican criminals here in the United States working and sending money back to Mexico. Sure the problem isn?t solved. But the concept of actually beefing up the border security is being shown to work. We now have the normal contingent of the Border Patrol, the Minutemen, some additional security sent by the President to keep a handle on things, the Mexican military patrolling its own border and warning its own citizens to find another path in to the United States or wait a month, and the ACLU hell bent on prosecuting American citizens for doing the job the government wouldn?t do previously all hovering around the border in an awesome presence.
All of this has resulted in fewer attempts at criminal activity by Mexicans at the border with Arizona. That means more people for the Mexican government to take care of. And if we can keep it up, that is the best way to decrease future immigration problems because Mexicans unable to break our laws will have to fix their own internal problems that have caused people to want to flee to the United States in order to find work.
Hey President Bush, how about it? The Bush Doctrine of promoting democracy, self reliance and stability is good enough for the middle east. Is it good enough for Mexico?
